    In episode 120 Sam is joined by Neil Alcock, film writer and author of HITCHOLOGY: A Film-by-Film Guide to the Style and Themes of Alfred Hitchcock

    Neil has chosen Hitchcock's The 39 Steps (86 mins). The 1935 film stars Robert Donat, Madeleine Carroll, John Laurie, and Peggy Ashcroft. 

    Sam and Neil discuss Hitchcock's early filmmaking career in Britain, Robert Donat's onscreen presence and Hitchcock's nicknames for his leading actors.

    Murugiah has chosen Jodorowsky's Dune (90 mins). Directed by Frank Pavich, the 2013 documentary follows Alejandro Jodorowsky's attempt to make a film adaptation of Frank Herbert's classic sci-fi novel Dune

    Sam and Murugiah discuss how Jodorowsky gathered his 'spiritual warriors' to work on the project, how not making the movie became a huge influence on sci-fi cinema - from Ridley Scott's Alien to much much more - and how seeing Jodorowsky's El Topo changed Murugiah's life.

    Ellen has chosen Stanley Kubrick's second feature Killer's Kiss (67 mins). The 1955 film stars Frank Silvera, Jamie Smith and Irene Kane.

    Sam and Ellen discuss Frank Silvera's mixed-race heritage and what that brings to the film, Kubrick's ability to maximise his limited production budget to big effect and how the location shooting depicts a 1950s New York City.

    Tom has chosen Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (90 mins) from 1989. Directed by Stephen Herek, the movie stars Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, and George Carlin.

    Sam and Tom discuss adapting the iconic My Neighbour Totoro for the stage, Bill & Ted's vague logic around time travel, and the enduring friendship of the two main characters.
