note about the quasar if it was closer to earth and then as bright as the sun, how we would not have night anymore, what would be the effect on things on the earth, etc.

Don’t forget the story from Issac Asimov, Nightfall, where 6 suns illuminate the surface of this planet all the time, except every 2000 years, night falls and the people go mad because the stars come out.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nightfall_(Asimov_novelette_and_novel) This story was written a long long time ago and it probably started Asimov’s writing career.

A playlist for 80s TV and movies?  I kinda think you can just make a checklist from Ready Player 1 and cover most everything you need to know about the 80s.

The funny thing about reading a lot of LitRPG is now I have confirmation of what I thought was widely popular when I was a kid. So in no particular order:

    • Airwolf
    • Knight Rider
    • Transformers
    • Voltron

Certain shows are popular only because they get used in memes.  You don’t need to watch the show/play the game, just look up knowyourmeme.com

          • The Simpsons
          • My Little Pony
          • Care Bears
          • The Smurfs
          • Dragonball
          • Warcraft
          • LotR (movies only, not the books)
