We bring updates from the Alliance of American Football, and more importantly the Memphis team. Join us as we break down the news from the AAF.
What a week in the Alliance! If this is the first time you’ve tuned into the Alliance you chose a great weekend.
The Chairman of the AAF, Tom Dundon, may have put negotiations with the NFLPA in jeopardy. He made an ill-advised statement alluding to the end of the Alliance if the NFLPA doesn’t allow practice squad players to play in the AAF.
Charlie Ebersol was talking about the possibility of expansion. Detroit was the topic of conversation after Eminem hinted he would be interested.
TNT has picked up the next Express away game so now we don’t have to suffer through B/R Live.

The post Ep. #31: Memphis Express Secures First Victory | Week 4 Recap appeared first on Express & Goal.
What an amazing game! Despite the loss, I came away excited about the future with Mettenberger at the helm.
The San Diego Fleet is at it again. A few weeks ago, they usurped the name “Fleet Speak” from a well-known podcast. This past week they selected a team captain that has strong ties to the LA Charges which is rather controversial in San Diego.
Johnny Football has been banned from the CFL and is expected to work out for The Alliance. His rights would belong to San Antonio.
Due to a recent lawsuit, alleged expansion plans have been revealed to the public.

The turnout was much less than I was hoping but the cold, wind, and rain likely had a lot to do with that. Combine the weather with the poor showing in week 1 and you can see why people may not have wanted to come out.
The non-football activities were a huge hit. The Tailgate Competition brought out a lot of great tailgaters and the Silent Disco brought a great crowd.
Hackenberg was disappointing. The team played better overall including Hackenberg. I think the blame falls equally among all aspects. The offensive line, namely the LT, didn’t perform well, play calling was lackluster, coaching was questionable, and receivers were dropping passes.
Zac Stacy was a beast becoming the first AAF player to rush for over 100 yards in a single game. Once again, our defense showed they are elite shutting out the Arizona Hotshots for almost three full quarters. Channing Stribling is showing that he is a strong candidate to land on an NFL roster next season.
The Alliance received a major investment from Carolina Hurricanes’ owner Tom Dundon. With his $250 million investment, the league won’t have to worry about funding for a long time. With Dundon taking the role of Chair of the Board, it should add a lot of knowledge to the league leadership.
The Memphis Express signed RB Sherman Badie and Mohamed Seisay and released RB Rajion Neal and DB Malik Boynton.
Current record 6/8

We traveled to Birmingham to watch the Express take on the Iron and it wasn’t good. Overall, I’m excited about what our offense did but the defense has a lot of work to do.

This past Sunday, the Express faced off with the Stallions in the only preseason game. Not the best showing, but it is only a scrimmage game. Hopefully, it’s not a sign of things to come.
