    Episode 16: Budget Constraints

We invited a friend from Missouri, Garrett Trentham, on the show to talk all things hunting, shallow water and short cover hunting, conservation, speculation on the upcoming season, and the special feature in this episode was trying to pick gear for a new hunter with a $1,000 budget.  This was one of the more fun episodes I've done so far.

We spent this episode chatting about the things that we feel make a well-rounded waterfowler and how that can be different from a "hardcore" waterfowler.

    Episode 14 "It Depends"

In this episode my goal was to try and make calling ducks easier for a new or beginning duck hunter (goose hunter also).  As we got going we realized we had to sprinkle in other parts of our experiences that help describe all of the various situations and we found ourselves thinking how important each little variable was/is.

Episode 11: Things We Forget, But Shouldn't

In this episode the three of us (Phil, Ryan, and Bill) discuss a little more on the Canadian border situation and the impacts on the hunting world.  We spend some time on another recurring topic that we quickly called "Cool moments while hunting" but I think I like the idea of "moments we forget but shouldn't" better.  We try to highlight those little moments during a duck hunt that really make the hunt what it is.

    Episode 10: Rebirth

We're back and ready to roll.

Thanks for everyone that stuck around and welcome to those new to the podcast.  In this second go round of the podcast I have asked Ryan Graves to be a regular co-host along with my regular co-host Bill Bartz.

We sat down and just talked about some general duck hunting info in this episode and as we get going we will be diving into more specific topics that will range from science, tips/tactics, gear, ethics, people, history, etc, etc, etc...  For now we just wanted to get things rolling and after one previous attempt where the audio didn't record properly we are full steam ahead.

    Episode 9: Josh Raggio

I was joined for this episode by custom call maker and artist extraordinaire, Josh Raggio.  We talked about his hunting in Mississippi and how it differs so much from where I hunt up north, some of the things that go into callmaking, and just hunting in general.  Thanks for listening!

    Episode 8 - A look into a waterfowl company

This week I was joined by Josh Dokken, director of marketing for Banded Holdings, which consists of Banded, Greenhead Gear, and Avery Outdoors, as well as Avery Sporting Dog products.  Josh happens to be from my hometown so we talk shop about that for a while but i was also curious about how some of the inner workings of a waterfowl product company move on a day to day basis.

    Episode 7: Ryan Graves

About 16-17 years ago, I met the guest of this episode in a pit at Tim Ground's hunt club.  We had been chatting over the past few weeks about doing a podcast and oddly we picked the day right after Tim's untimely passing.  Ryan Graves is a duck hunter that loves duck hunting for what is beyond the shooting and calling.  I remember when I met him and saw his house, even when he was a very young guy, that his house was full of waterfowl prints and other pieces of waterfowl history.  He has a great reverence for the sport and we had a good time discussing things old and new...enjoy!
