Emteaz Hussain is a playwright and performance poet. As a performance poet she has toured both nationally and internationally, and toured as a backing poet with Benjamin Zephaniah’s band. As a writer, her plays include Social Distancing, Etching and writing as part of the Royal Court’s Living Newspaper. Her latest play Expendable, will play in the Royal Court’s Jerwood Theatre Upstairs later this year.

Oli Forsyth is a TV and theatre writer, as well as having his own theatre company Smoke and Oakum. His plays have been performed at the New Diorama, Hampstead, Vault Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe.

Mark Rosenblatt is a writer and director for stage and screen. He’s worked as a theatre director since 1998 and in that time has worked as the Associate Director at Leeds Playhouse, and Studio Associate at the National Theatre. He also founded Dumbfounded Theatre to rediscover forgotten classics from the international repertoire. This year, his debut play Giant will play in the Royal Court’s Jerwood Theatre Downstairs.

Nassim Soleimanpour is a playwright, theatre maker and the Artistic Director of the Berlin Based Theatre company Nassim Soleimanpour Productions. His most well known work White Rabbit Red Rabbit has been performed in more than 20 languages, and was deemed an audacious theatre experiment. This year, his latest piece Echo debuts in the Royal Court Theatre’s Jerwood Theatre Downstairs in collaboration with LIFT.

Ciara Elizabeth Smyth is an award-winning playwright and screenwriter. Her latest play Lie Low was presented in the Traverse Theatre as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023. It won Best Theatre Script 2023 Writers Guild of Ireland and First Finalist BBC Writers Room Popcorn Award 2023. Lie Low makes it London debut this year in the Royal Court’s Jerwood Theatre Upstairs.

Margaret Perry is an award-winning playwright. Her stage work includes her debut play Porcelain which was produced by the Abbey Theatre in 2018,  Collapsible which won the Fishamble New Writing Award at Dublin Fringe 2019, and transferred to the Bush Theatre for in March 2020, and  Paradise Now! which opened at the Bush Theatre in December 2022 and was nominated for a 2023 Olivier Award (Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre). This year, she collaborates with Katie Mitchell on an adaptation of Maggie Nelson’s ‘Bluets’, which will play in the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs later this year.

Sabrina Ali is a British Somali writer and actor, who is driven by a passion for sharing authentic and representative stories. Sabrina’s most recent play, Dugsi Dayz, played at Edinburgh Fringe 2023 to rave reviews, and was named a breakout hit of the festival by Rolling Stone Magazine, and returned to the New Diorama Last Year. Dugsi Dayz will play in the Royal Court’s Jerwood Theatre Upstairs this Spring.

Dirty Hare are an award-winning theatre company that have received critical acclaim on both their shows Belly Up and Gunter. It is made up of director and facilitator Rachel Lemon, historian, musician and writer Lydia Higman and actor and writer Julia Grogan. Dirty Hare’s award-winning production of Gunter transfers to the Royal Court theatre upstairs following its sold-out premiere at Summerhall at the Edinburgh Fringe last year.

Caro is a Bachelor of Psychology with experience in social research in public policies. They have worked in the formulation, development and monitoring of social investment projects, as well as in the publication of academic studies and a complementary training in neuroscience. As a playwright, their plays include “Asfixia” and “Tomás”. Their television work includes writing programs on health, lifestyle and gastronomy. They have been a resident at the Royal Court’s International Playwrights’ Programme and have taken part in their Long-Form Writing Group. Currently, they work as a Strategic Planner at Wunderman Thompson. They spend lots of time taking photos.
