Q&A Saturday is back!
I know we’ve been super sporadic as of late (life is well, crazy), but we’re working hard to get on a regular monthly schedule. I think this is one of our most detailed and in-depth episodes ever, so I highly recommend taking a peek.
And with that, let’s jump into February’s show!
In this episode we tackle:
-A border collie stalking cars.
-A much improved fearful dog and how to create further progress.
-An owner struggling to keep her dogs from forging ahead on walks.
-Am I married and what footwear will I rock if not?
-Advice for a trainer struggling to keep their sessions to an hour.
-Dogs having pre-fight friction over affection and what to do.
-Another trainer asks about working with fighting dogs in a 1-on-1 format
-How to start training with a dog who isn’t food motivated.
-What to do when a dog has had poor prior e-collar training and how to approach fixing it.
And lots more!

Q&A Saturday Mega-Episode #146 is finally up!
Sometimes Q&A Saturday turns into Q&A Sunday. 🙂 No matter what the TGD emergency tech team (aka Marta) tried in order to get this episode posted on time, we were foiled at every turn.
The good news is, it’s finally up! The other good news is, instead of answering the usual 5 questions, we tackled 20! We had SO many great questions this week that I was wracked with guilt trying to decide which ones would and wouldn’t make the cut. And while we couldn’t answer them all (between all 3 pages there was something like 80+ questions), we decided to attempt to tackle 20. Let’s just say that took awhile. But it was worth it. We picked a diverse group of questions, so there should be something for just about everyone.
A quick overview on the subjects we covered: what qualifies a pup for e-collar training, what to do if an off-leash dog charges you, how to mellow a rambunctious young dog, what to do when your dog challenges you, recall issues, how to cope with a physically senior but mentally young dog, correcting reactivity on walks, how to safely launch your own training business, how to qualify clients, working with a nervous dog who isn’t toy/food/praise driven, mastering e-collar Heel, and my favorite...tips for working with a 2 headed dog, and yes...lots more.
Enjoy.
P.S. Let me know what was your favorite takeaway from the show?
P.P.S. Notice the fancy audio upgrade??? 😉
P.P.P.S. If you notice Marta bobbing towards me, it’s not out of affection, or an involuntary body tic, she’s trying to see if the camera is still on. (It auto-shuts down after 30 minutes.)
