    The St. Francis Prayer

    Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;
     Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
     Where there is injury, pardon;
     Where there is doubt, faith;
     Where there is despair, hope;
     Where there is darkness, light;
     And where there is sadness, joy.

    O Divine Master,
     Grant that I may not so much seek
     To be consoled as to console;
     To be understood, as to understand;
     To be loved, as to love;
     For it is in giving that we receive,
     It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
     And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
     Amen.

    Episode 511: Kickstarting 2025 with My Husband, John – Let’s Reflect, Recharge, and Have Some Fun!

    Send us a text

    In this episode, I’m diving into the power of shifting our mindset as we step into 2025. It’s all about emotional and mental decluttering—letting go of the stuff that weighs us down—not just the physical clutter. I share some personal stories about releasing outcomes and expectations, learning to embrace independence, and leaning into the beauty of change.

    We’ll also talk about spiritual growth and the importance of supporting each other as we navigate the art of letting go. My message is simple: let’s live freely, focus on experiences over material possessions, and create a lighter, more joyful life together.

    takeaways

    • This year is about embracing a lighter, freer version of ourselves.
    • Letting go of what no longer serves you is essential.
    • Outcomes are so important in the letting go process.
    • You need to let go of your childish dreams.
    • It drives everyone from us.
    • You wanted us to be independent, and we are independent.
    • Less thinking and more doing.
    • Life is all about enjoying it and walking through all these things.
    • We are going to be nice to ourselves in 2025.
    • Sending lots of love and lots of hugs to you all.

    Episode 508 Holidays Made Simple

    Send us a text

    In this episode, JF and I share the tools and strategies that have helped us stay sober from the very beginning of our recovery to today. Whether you're new to sobriety or a seasoned veteran, these tips will help you navigate the holiday season with confidence and joy!

    Here are our top tips to stay grounded and sober during the holidays:

    1. Put Yourself First
      Protect your sobriety like the precious gift it is! Think of it as caring for your loved ones—because when you prioritize your recovery, you’re able to show up for them fully.
    2. Have an Exit Plan
      Holiday gatherings can be full of triggers. If you're feeling uneasy or anxious, don't hesitate to leave—or better yet, skip events that don’t support your well-being. Always have a trusted friend on standby to call when you need support without judgment.
    3. BYOD (Bring Your Own Drink)
      Don’t leave your beverage options up to chance! Bring something festive you love, like our non-alcoholic “Mistletoe” mocktail. Recipe below!
    4. Stay Connected with Support
      AA meetings are available around the clock during the holidays through in-person Alcathons and Zoom meetings. The beauty of Zoom? You can join in your pajamas without even brushing your teeth (a little humor to lighten the mood).
    5. Celebrate Yourself
      Staying sober is an incredible accomplishment. Each sober hour, day, or week is the best gift you could ever give yourself. Be proud and take time to recognize your strength!
    6. Don’t Forget to Have Fun
      Rule 62: Don’t take yourself too seriously. Celebrate your progress, embrace the joy of the season, and remember how far you’ve come

    Mistletoe Mocktail Recipe

    • Ingredients:

      • Cranberry Simple Syrup
    •

      • Fresh Cranberries
    •
      • A sprig of Rosemary or Fresh Mint
    •
    • Simple Syrup Instructions:

      • Combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a saucepan.

    In this special holiday episode of Conversations with Bizzy, I reflect on the magic of the season and share why gratitude, joy, and self-care are so important this time of year. I talk about the challenges of comparing ourselves on social media, the importance of giving ourselves permission to indulge a little, and the beauty of receiving love and kindness.

    I want to remind you to find joy in the little moments, set personal goals that matter to you, and spread kindness wherever you can. Most importantly, remember this: you are never alone, and someone loves you. So, grab a cozy blanket, take a deep breath, and let’s celebrate the light and love of this season together.
