    825. Possum Playdate: a children’s relaxing story and meditation

Petunia Possum feels a bit shy when meeting new friends. How will she react to meeting Morgan Mole?

    Narrator: Female

    Story Begins: 3:26

    Possum Playdate Excerpt:

The soft glow of moonlight blanketed the Ahway Island Forest. The leaves of the trees shimmered in the moon’s gentle silver light. Fireflies twinkled amidst their branches. The air was filled with the soothing sounds of chirping crickets and the occasional hoot of an owl. It was a truly beautiful evening.

Petunia Possum had just awoken from her sleep. With a yawn and a stretch, she poked her head out from the hole in the tree stump that was her home and looked around.  Petunia decided it was a lovely evening for a walk.

Today’s Meditation: Love flows through you in this meditation as you imagine a baby fawn and mama deer.

    823. Drifting Dandelion: a story and guided meditation for kids

Fionn the dandelion seed goes on an unexpected journey through the air. Where will he land?

    Narrator: Female

    Story Begins: 3:50

    Drifting Dandelion Excerpt:

It was a cool, sunny morning in the Ahway Island forest. The calm creek trickled water downstream. Birds chirped playfully, coasting from tree to tree, and the sun shined brightly. A gentle breeze carried the aroma of local wildflowers. In the thick, green grass, a bed of once bright yellow dandelions had transformed into a blanket of white, fuzzy seeds clustered together around each flowerhead in the shape of snowballs. Among the hundreds of seeds was Fionn, who was just now seeing the beauty of the forest for the first time.

As Fionn opened his eyes, he gasped as he took in the beauty of the world he had only heard until now. The sapphire sky contrasted brilliantly against the verdant canopy of the forest made Fionn sigh in awe.

Today’s Meditation: Feel calm and relaxed as you imagine a baby elephant and its mama.

Billy and Emily figure out how to communicate with Roly the Robot.

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Bot Basics,” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

    Narrator: Male

    Story Begins: 8:55

    Bot Basics Excerpt:

Light filled the living room as the curtains opened. The little robot charging on the table opened her eyes. Feeling refreshed and full of energy Roly slid off the charger. She hoped the kids had time to play today. Roly wanted to learn more. The little robot looked over to the quiet tablet, and then towards the sound of laughter spilling out of the hallway. From the sound of it, Roly figured the happy kids were coming her way. As she listened to Billy and Emily talking the little robot looked back at the tablet, still sitting peacefully. Roly wished she could understand what the kids were saying without a translator.

Billy and Emily rushed over to the table. Billy picked up the tablet and said, “Good morning, Roly!” as he typed.

Today’s Meditation: Today, enjoy the feeling of your body relaxing into the warm sand on a sunny beach.

    821. Dragon Hiccups: a relaxation and story for your naptime routine

Dragon has some unexpected hiccups, and Peanut Squirrel tries to help find a cure.

    Narrator: Female

    Story Begins: 3:30

    Dragon Hiccups Excerpt:

In the Ahway Island Forest, a gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the trees as sunlight streamed through the branches, making delightful shadows on the ground. Dragon sat in the wild berry patch, picking berries and eating them. Dragon loved to eat berries, with their sweet bursts of flavor. As Dragon ate a handful of berries all at once, a funny sensation arose in Dragon’s midsection and throat. It caused Dragon to make a strange sound: “Hic!”
After another moment, the same sensation happened a second time, and again Dragon made an involuntary sound: “hic!”.
Dragon thought surely this sensation would stop, but at regular intervals, it continued.
Dragon sat very still, unsure what was happening, or what to do.

Addae the African Grey Parrot tries to chose his words wisely when he finds out that some words are rude!

    Narrator: Male

    Story Begins: 4:01

    The Four-Letter Word Excerpt:

The Ahway Island Animal Shelter was a cozy haven for pets of all types. Furry, feathery, and scaly friends found love and care at the shelter while awaiting their forever homes. In the main room of the shelter perched a curious African Grey Parrot named Addae.

On this particular day, Addae found himself looking out over the main room of the shelter.  It was sunny outside, and the big window at the front filled the room with a golden glow.  The nice weather meant the people of Ahway Island were out and about.  Often, they would pass by the shelter and take a peek at the animals through the window.  Sometimes, they would even stop in to play!

When faced with a massive mountain of dirt, Drevan Dump Truck learns the importance of accepting help from friends.

    Narrator: Female

    Story Begins: 3:28

    Dirt Mountain Excerpt:

Drevan the dump truck awoke to the gentle hum of the garage door opening. He stretched his tires and smiled, wondering what the crew would do today. The little dump truck anticipated another day of exciting construction projects. The crew had finished their last project, so he guessed that today would bring something new. Drevan couldn’t wait to find out what it was!

With a slight rattle, the garage door rolled up, section by section, and Drevan’s driver made her way inside. Drevan peered out into the construction yard. It was peaceful and quiet. No one was there yet. The little dump truck grinned; he loved being the first one out. The driver turned the key, and Drevan’s engine rumbled to life.  Drevan happily rolled out of the garage and patiently waited to see if any other vehicles would be joining him today.

    818. Cheery Checkup: a soothing meditation and bedtime story

When Emily needs to go to the dentist, her dad and her brother Billy help calm her nerves.

    Narrator: Female

    Story Begins: 3:20

    Cheery Checkup Excerpt:

It was a regular day on Ahway Island. It had just rained, and you could feel the dampness in the air. The wind slowly rustled across the grass. Looking out the window of their house, Billy and Emily watched the birds play in a puddle of water next to the tree in their front yard. Emily anxiously played with the bottom of her shirt as she watched a cardinal flutter her wings in the water.

Today was the day that Emily was going to the dentist. Emily fidgeted with her shirt, eventually tearing a small hole in it as she thought more and more about today’s visit. Billy looked over at his sister and watched her fingers run through the hole in her shirt. The dentist always made Emily nervous; she didn’t like it when anyone looked in her mouth.

Today’s Meditation: Love flows through you in this meditation as you imagine a baby fawn and mama deer.

    Race Tracks Excerpt:

Today had been an ordinary day. The sky was cloudy with some sunshine. Billy had followed his usual routine, and he expected the evening would be ordinary as well. His family had just finished dinner and now was the time Billy got to play with his favorite toy, his little yellow race car. Billy loved his little yellow race car. It had shiny black wheels, with a black lightning bolt racing stripe on each side. Billy kept the race car with him all the time, and especially liked to play with it after dinner. That was when he created the race track of the day. Billy had made tracks in the shape of a circle, and in an oval. He had even used a bridge to make a track in the shape of the number eight. “Yes,” He thought to himself. “I’ll make a figure eight today.”
