    Morgan McDonald runs 4th fastest Australian Half Marathon of all time of 60:58, to place 11th at the Houston Half Marathon. Conner Mantz came second in an American Record time of 57:17, scrapping with Addisu Gobena to the line, while Pat Tiernan withdrew after 10k. Lauren Ryan also ran the fourth fastest Australian half marathon time of 68:43, with Senayet Getachew of Ethiopia winning in 66:05 ahead of Weini Kelati setting a new American record in 66:09.

    London Marathon announced their elite fields including Andy Buchanan, Brett Robinson and Jack Rayner. Eliud Kipchoge will return as will defending champion Alexander Mutiso Munyao, and also feature Valencia Marathon winner Sebastian Sawe and Jacob Kiplimo making his debut.

    Interview: Andre La Gerche (New 2025)

    This week’s guest is one of the most highly respected Sports Cardiologists in the world and a sub 2:30 marathoner. He is the Head of the Heart, Exercise and Research Trials Lab at St Vincent’s Institute and the Victor Chang Cardiovascular Research Institute, as well as being a Cardiologist and Head of Cardiovascular Research at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.

    He completed a PhD at St Vincent’s and University of Melbourne and 4 years of post-doctoral research at the University Hospital of Leuven in Belgium. His research and clinical work focuses on the effect of exercise on the human heart.

    He has more than 300 peer-review publications and text-book chapters, serves on multiple international guideline statements and is regularly invited to present at all major international cardiology conferences.

    Valencia 10k Andreas Almgren of Sweden takes out the in a new European record of 26:53, just ahead of Dominic Lobalu of Switzerland and Vincent Langat of Kenya. Hellen Ekale Lobun set a massive personal best of 29:31 ahead of Girmawit Gebrzihair and Fotyen Hailyu of Ethiopia.

    Fraser Darcy won the 2025 Cadbury Marathon in Hobart Tasmania, in 2:26 while Camille O’Donaghue won in 2:54:46.
    Sarah Klein won the half marathon in 1:17:25 while Richie Egan also won in 1:09:52.

    Adelaide University Athletic Club hosted the inaugural Run the Loop, with Caitlin Adams and Jonothan Harris posting the fastest times on the 2.2km loop.

    This week’s guest is CEO and co-founder of Altra Running Brian Beckstead. Brian chats with Julian about his origins in Orem, Utah, meeting his future team and using their observations in barefoot running to inform the philosophy that went into developing the first Altra models, as well as building up their distribution on the cusp of the barefoot trend.
    Brian reflects on some of the significant moments and mistakes that have characterised Altra’s growth as a running brand, committing to trail running and getting adopted by the hiking community then talks about making innovation and running shoe foam, and how Altra position themselves in the mainstream running culture.     Cam Myers is this weekend's guest as he joins Crokes for this in person interview. He has been the name on everyone’s lips the last couple of years. He was the 2nd youngest person to break the 4min mile, behind Jakob Ingebrigtsen and holds the world record for the fastest mile by a 16year old. At the age of 17 he ran 1500m in 3:33, and earlier this year, won a silver medal at the World Junior Championships.

    Mo Katir has been handed an additional ban of four years by the Athletics Integrity Unit, for falsifying travel documents in relation to his previous ban failure from whereabouts failure. He now serves two concurrent bans, with this new ban reaching to 2028
