The Utah Wildlife Board recently met to approve (or not approve) of the updated deer management plan items for 2025-2030. After virtually attending multiple Utah RAC and Wildlife Board meetings, I breakdown their final votes and process. Some big changes include lowering the buck to doe ratio on certain general units, weapon restrictive hunts on certain units, a change to the general and dedicated hunter bonus point process, and much more! Long overdue - I finally recap some of my September hunts, including my old man's NV archery elk hunt and my Wyoming deer hunt. Prioritizing hunts is a challenge each year. Once-in-a-lifetime type hunts rarely come along, so we should help with them every chance we get. My dad's NV archery elk hunt was one of those hunts. Enjoy!
