Episode 2: The Solution to Poverty with Scott C. Miller

    Excerpt from Scott's upcoming book
After more than four decades of work in this field, I know that we, as a nation, have everything we need to end poverty. We know what programs work, what systemic barriers must be eliminated, and what service gaps need filling. We know what people need so they can safely leave public assistance programs and secure and retain good jobs. We know how to scale programs that work, and we know how to defund programs that don’t.

    About Scott C. Miller
Scott C. Miller is the founder of Circles USA and The Poverty Solution, a private consultant group working with select communities in designing and implementing new poverty alleviation systems that are accountable for reducing poverty rates and replacing the poverty management system. Scott has helped communities raise over $200 million
for local programs that assist families in completely moving out of poverty. He is the author of several books, and his work has been featured on numerous national media outlets, including CBS Evening News, CNN, NPR, PBS, Huffington  Post, Philanthropy Roundtable Chronicles, TEDx, and Stanford Social Innovation Review. Director of “Growth Busters”, Dave Gardner
    Introduction
Forget what you thought you already knew about our small planet. Dave Gardner the Director of Growth Busters share how we must learn to live more sustainably or risk serious consequences. This is an interview that I went into thinking I had a grasp of the topic, but I was wrong. Gardner will challenge you with facts and ideas you won’t hear anywhere else.

    Summary
Dave Gardner is the Director of GrowthBusters: Hooked on Growth, a documentary about overpopulation and growth.
The Movie shows how from Las Vegas to Atlanta, Mexico City to Mumbai, the White House to the Vatican, GrowthBusters we are all focused on growth. He describes it as Wild Kingdom with a twist: the cameras are turned on humanity as our own survival skills are examined. GrowthBusters: Hooked on Growth looks into the psychology of denial and crowd behavior. It explores our obsession with urban and economic growth, and our reluctance to address overpopulation issues head-on and holds up a mirror, encouraging us to examine the beliefs and behaviors we must leave behind – and the values we need to embrace – so our children can survive and thrive.

Black Lives Matter. What Do You Know About BLM
Black Lives Matter (BLM) originally aired 11/17/2015. I am adding it to my podcast because it is more important today as it was then. It has been one of my most popular shows at ChrisTinney.com

This show is to introduce the Black Lives Matter movement to people that may (like me) not have people they can ask in their life. That alone says a lot about why this show is so needed, yes?

When you hear my guests you will forever have a better understanding of #BlackLivesMatter and the movement whether you agree or not. I hope you get inspired.
