Riverdale S4 E19 Recap & After Show: You’re a mean one, Mr. Honey.

Jughead, Charles and Betty watch the tape that Cheryl received which shows her father shooting her brother.  Charles suggests going through the rest of the tapes but Betty passes because she has to finish the yearbook.

When Betty arrives at Principal Honey’s office where he tells her that the yearbook won’t be published this year because she is two days late in delivering the yearbook and he won’t have time to approve it.

Betty breaks the news to the rest of the gang and suggests they should kill him.  Everyone gets in on the joke adding details.  Jughead is inspired to use the idea as the basis of a story he has to write to get acceptance to attend the University of Iowa.

Reggie says that they should all pull a prank on Honey that will be talked about for years.  The next day when Honey arrives in his office he sits down in chair and is stuck to it.  His phone has also been covered in glue as well and he needs the fire department to take him away to get him unstuck.

Honey then announces that unless the people behind the prank step forward Prom will be cancelled.  Betty researches Honey and finds out that he has cancelled prom at every school he’s worked at.  The solution here?  Get everyone’s parents to come to the school and convince Honey to let prom continue.  The parents are successful and prom is back on until Honey calls Charles, Jughead and Betty to his office to show them a videotape left at the school.  The tape shows someone recording the empty halls of Riverdale.  Honey says that this could be the work of whoever is making the video tapes and to keep the students safe prom must be cancelled.

Smelling something fishy, Betty and Jughead watch the tape later and Betty sees a couple frames that show Honey in a reflection and that he is the one that made the tape.

Honey is fired from Riverdale high but he tells Betty, Jughead, Archie, Veronica and the rest of the gang that he figured something like this would happen and he already has been hired at Stonewall Prep who have cleaned house after everything that happened with Jughead.  While they gang basks in their success, the Principals assistant, Ms. Bell, tells the students how much Honey did to help the school and the students.

During these events, Jughead has been writing his story which has the gang kidnapping Honey, taking him up to a cabin, maple boarding him and trying to get him to leave town.  When Honey refuses they all step out of the cabin to figure out then next move.  When Veronica and Archie return they find Honey dead.  The gang buries the body and tries to continue on with life.  Reggie starts to crack from guilt and almost tells a couple members of the football team.   The rest of the gang cut Reggie’s brakes on his car and he is killed in a crash.  The story is escalating as people begin to turn on each other to make sure the secrets remains hidden.

Jughead was enjoying writing this story until Ms. Ball gives him a letter that Honey wanted her to mail to the University of Iowa.  After Jughead reads it he realizes that he has become sucked into the darker elements of Riverdale and doesn’t want to be like that so he changes his story to Honey living and the gang dealing with the consequences of their actions.

Jelly Bean brings Jughead and Betty a video tape that was left at the front door.  Jughead and Betty watch the tape and see a recreation of Jughead’s story where the gang stand around a tied up Honey and stab him to death.

Riverdale S4 E18 Recap & After Show: Tickle Club Takedown

Reggie finds out about Kevin and Fang’s tickle
videos and wants in.  After filming one he convinces Kevin and Fang that they should cut out the middle man and do it themselves.  Kevin talks to the producer and is able to step away but after the producer finds out that Kevin, Frag and Reggie are doing their own tickle videos he threatens Kevin to give him 40 percent.  Reggie counters by meeting the producer with the rest of the football team and says he’ll he nothing and if Kevin is hurt the team will take care of business.

Principal Honey calls Kevin, Fang and Reggie into
his office to tell them about a call he received about the tickle videos.  Kevin says it’s true and they were done off school property and with clothes on.  Honey says that some videos have students wearing Riverdale High logos and this makes it his business.  He orders them to take it down.

Archie and Betty try to sort out their feelings. Archie composes a song for Betty and Betty reads her 5th grade diary about when she met Archie.  When Archie plays his song for Betty she stops him and says that they are acting like this because of so much uncertainty about the future. She loves Jughead and he loves Veronica and they need to.l focus on those things and the future.  Archie goes home and tells his mom that he’s ready to take enrollment to the Naval Academy seriously.

Jughead and Charlie keep pursuing who is making the video tapes.  The trail leads to Ethel who denies any involvement but a search of her pace uncovers the second tape Bret made of Jughead and Betty.  That leads them to a room at a local video store that rents taboo videos.  The room is shut down much to the chagrin on Principal Honey.

Veronica and Cheryl are threatened by rival maple liquor sellers.  When Veronica refuses to stop selling to college campuses they smash up the Maple Club.  Cheryl backs out of the business arrangement with Veronica.   Veronica thinking Hiram is behind the rival gang tells him to back off.  Hiram goes to take care of the gang but gets beat up.  He goes back later and shoots and kills  the leader.

Cheryl calls Jughead and Betty to tell them she has gotten a video recreating Jason getting shit by his father.

    Locked Room, Truths Told - S4 E17

Jughead has been spending his time pretending to be dead in the bunker putting the pieces together on his attempted murder and the secrets of Stonewall.

Having the pieces in place, Jughead and Betty head to Stonewall prep and into Mr DuPont’s classroom and stage a locked room mystery with the class and DuPont.  The door will remain locked until the true killer reveals them-self.

Jughead and Betty take them all through the events that happened this year and what they meant.

They reveal how they revived Jughead after being hit with a rock by Joan.  After spending 36 hours unconscious he woke up and worked with Betty, Archie and Veronica to convince Stonewall that he was dead so he could put together the facts.

Jughead finally circles around to the original sin, DuPont stealing the original Baxter Brother’s story from grandfather.  They reveal that DuPont killed the original inner circle so they couldn’t reveal the truth about what DuPont did.

F.P. and Charles arrive with Jughead’s grandfather who has been doing some detective work of his own about DuPont.  Realizing that he is caught, DuPont jumps out the window to his death.

Joan leaves the country and Bret, after some brass knuckle convincing from Jughead and F.P., gives up the location of the sex tapes he recorded.

Betty pays a visit to Donna and reveals that she knows she is the granddaughter of one of the original inner circle members.  She did all this to bring down DuPont and take the Tracy True contract. Betty tells her to walk away from the contract or she will expose what she did.  Donna doesn’t deserve the contract after what she tried to do after Jughead.

With Jughead back at Riverale High, Cheryl asks Betty if the chemistry between her and Archie was all fake.  F.P. and Jughead’s grandfather have dinner and try to talk about the past.

Archie, Veronica, Betty and Jughead promise to make the most the remainder of their senior year and get Jughead and Archie to graduate with them.  And Kevin shows up saying that everyone needs to be in the spring musical.

Ask me no questions, I’ll tell you no lies. - S4 E14

Archie, Betty and Veronica burn their clothes and Jughead beanies and try to convince their parents that nothing is wrong.

Archie meets his mom’s girlfriend, Brooke, who says that she’ll recommend him to the Navel Academy.  Hiram updates his will and finally tells Veronica about his illness.  She agrees to be Co-Executor of his will along with Hermosa.

Betty tells Charles about what happened with Jughead.  He offers to help her get the truth from the Stonewall Prep students and gives her a big to plant.   Betty visits Evelyn Evernever in prison to find out if she can be triggered by a code word.  Evelyn  is eager for Betty to join her in prison.

Betty ask Archie to help scare Brett enough for him to say something incriminating for the bug.  Brett and Donna don’t fall for it and tell Betty she needs to be smarter.

Veronica gets a call from Barnard College saying her application is in review.  Archie and Veronica go to get the truth from Betty.

The pressure to tell the truth finally convince Betty to open up to Archie and Veronica about the code word and her fears that she killed Jughead. They agree to stand next to her and suggest Betty get help from Charles again.  He hypnotizes Betty and she remembers Donna blowing Demon’s Breath in her face.

Betty confronts Donna and she says she knows the body will never be found because all evidence will point to Betty.  Betty tells Archie and Veronica that they need to stop playing defense and switch to offense.

Betty organized a search party so Jughead’s body can be found.  Archie finds it for F.P. and the body is identified

Archie confess what happened to Mary.

Betty and Donna meet one more time in the woods where Betty tells Donna that she is the ultimate wildcard, she’s coming for her and she will regret ever meeting her.

    Et tu, Betty? - S4 E13

Jughead is kicked out of Quill and Skull and will lose the Baxtor Brothers contract if he doesn’t turn in a new manuscript in 5 days.  Jughead decides to write a story based on what’s been happening to him at Stonewall. Ultimately, under threat of blackmail from Brett, Jughead quits Stonewall Prep. Archie struggles with how to honor his father’s legacy while also figuring out what he wants for his future.  He almost sells Andrews construction to focus on the Community Center but can’t do it in the end. Veronica struggles with how to deal with Hiram’s illness. She goes off the rails for most of the episode byt drinking at school and hooking up with Archie constantly but in the end realizes the best way to help Hiram is to make him angry and give him something he can fight.  So she tells Hiram her plans for the Red Raven maple line and awakens the dragon in Hiram. The episode ends with Archie, Veronica, Betty and Jughead going to the Ides of March party at Stonewall Prep. Jughead confronts Brett, Betty confronts Donna and it all culminates with Betty standing over Jughead’s dead body holding a bloody rock.
