Columboys is a podcast all about the rumpled, wood-paneled, murderous world of Lieutenant Columbo hosted by Mack and Ben. Mack has seen every episode and Ben is seeing them all for the very first time. Episodes are released every other Friday. Come along on an episodic journey through the 35 year history of this beloved series.
Your podcast device hasn't messed up and downloaded an old podcast episode like they all do sometimes for some reason. This is a brand new episode of Columboys recorded in 2023! The 50th episode was previously recorded but the audio was unusable and so episode 50 passed into the mists of legend... until today!
Ben and Mack reunite and discuss Episode 1 of Season 9: Murder, a Self Portrait. In this elusive episode Columbo catches the hell out of a polyamorous painter who murders his ex-wife.
Thanks for listening!
On this, the final episode of Columbo, Columbo must wade into the seedy made-for-tv world of early 2000s rave culture. Â Matthew Rhys stars as a club promoter who gets stuck in a web of murder to protect his club opening. Came along one last time with The Columboys as they watch ABC wring the last little bit of juice out of the Columbo property and say farewell to this beloved character.
In the penultimate episode of Columbo, Billy Connoly plays a murderous film composer who's hatched the perfect melody... for MURDER.

Okay maybe that doesn't make any sense but then neither does this episode of Columbo.
It's the final return of Columboys favorite Patrick McGoohan in the directing and starring roles. In this Modernish Classic episode of Columbo, McGoohan plays a funeral home director who murders beloved Golden Girls star Rue McClanahan to protect his reputation. We've all thought about it, but only Patrick had the guts to actually go through with it!
George Wendt plays a horse breeder who murders his irresponsible brother and pins it on a mob bookie. Can Columbo catch this criminal without breaking numerous laws and getting help from the actual mafia? Apparently not! We're in the home stretch! Only five episode of Columbo left!
In this episode Columbo is looking for buried treasure, and also a murderer sure why not. The audio in this one is a little rough but the Columboys are more than up to the challenge!
A pompous radio host murders an investigative reporter to stop his daughter from becoming a novelist. This episode stars William Shatner in the mustache of a lifetime. Meanwhile the Columboys are slowly going insane from isolation.Â
Faye Dunaway plays a murderous matriarch who tries to seduce Columbo to throw him off her trail. The Columboys, who don't have anything else to criticize about this episode, spend an unreasonable amount of time talking about the sound effects.
After a couple weeks off because Mack got married, Columboys is back with a brand new episode, and by new I mean it's an episode that was recorded two months ago about a show that was released in 1992. This time Tyne Daly and Greg Evigan (or as my spellcheck would rather I typed: Tyre Day and Greg Evian) are unintentional conspirators in the murder of a football team owner. It's a fun episode!
Columbo must track down the kidnapper of his nephew's bride, in this incredibly un-Columbo episode of Columbo. Meanwhile the Columboys are struggling with their sanity. Will the podcast survive this quarantine?! Yes obviously. It's really easy to record remotely and they've been doing that for months. It's not a big deal. Thanks for listening.
