Planet FPL - The Fantasy Football Podcast

Suj & James

  • 1 hour 19 minutes
Chelsea v West Ham | CotC with Gary Mantle & Chris Stone | Planet FPL 2024/25

West London meets East London on Clash of the Correspondents as James is joined by Chelsea fan Gary Mantle and West Ham fan Chris Stone to discuss the latest at their clubs ahead of Monday's Gameweek 24 meeting at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's form has slumped below previous standards in recent weeks and they have gone from outsiders for the title to being caught in a multiple club race for Champions League qualification.

Whilst West Ham have recently replaced Julen Lopetegiui with former Chelsea manager Graham Potter. There's discussion on Potter as a fit for The Hammers, whether he can improve their underwhelming season and if he should be judged at all on his tenture at Chelsea.

Plus, key FPL discussion on Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson, defensive assets from both, if Lukasz Fabianski is likely to get his place back and the imminent return for The Hammers of a potentially explosive differential in Jarrod Bowen.

    Dango Unchained | Planet FPL S. 8 Ep. 33 | GW23 Review | Fantasy Premier League

Suj and James review a dramatic weekend in FPL as James played an accidental Free Hit, but at least went with Cody Gakpo who hauled ahead of Double Gameweek 24. A double that features a Merseyside Derby, so Everton assets appeal along with Reds players from across Stanley Park.

But how good is this Liverpool double? They'll start against Bournemouth who are absolutely flying and walloped third placed Nottingham Forest 5-0; Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo both scored again, but it was OOP Dango Ouattara who claimed the match ball this time.

There's discussion on Arne Slot Assistant Manager versus Mo Salah Triple Captaincy, how Trent Alexander-Arnold purred against Ipswich on Saturday and what to do if managers feel like they've picked the wrong Liverpool assets.

Plus, as usual all the games reviewed, including coverage of the tactics in Manchester City's victory against Chelsea, the Myles Lewis-Skelly red card controversy in Arsenal's victory at Wolves and what now for Ange Postecoglu, following another disaster for Tottenham, as they were beaten at home by struggling Leicester?

    Free Hit GW29 or GW34? | The People's Poll ep. 157 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Suj and James assess the possibilities for using the Free Hit Chip in one of the likely Blank Gameweeks of 29 or 34.

Gameweek 29 is likely to have two postponements due to the Carabao Cup Final; there is discussion on how best to manage the first Blank subject to which games are actually postponed with a look at how a template Free Hit might change subject to which games stay on.

But is GW34 a better week to cover the problems? There's discussion about the best fixtures in that week and how what could happen in a possible Double Gameweek 33 will impact the Blank after, with some teams potentially Doubling and then Blanking in consecutuve weeks.

And a consequence could GW33 be better to use the Free Hit Chip?

The answer ultimately may be decided by the who, and when.
