    A total of 14 people are dead and 35 people were injured after a man drove a truck into a crowd at Bourbon and Canal streets in New Orleans on New Year's Day in a terrorist attack, according to the FBI.

    It happened around 3:15 a.m. toward the end of New Year’s celebrations in New Orleans and hours before the expected kickoff of the Allstate Sugar Bowl, a college football quarterfinal held in the city’s Caesars Superdome.

    The FBI confirmed the identity of the suspected driver of the truck as [REDACTED], 42, of Texas. A new photo of [REDACTED] was released early Thursday morning.

    The FBI confirmed that, despite previous reports, investigators believe [REDACTED] acted alone in the attack.

    Three people who police say are part of a transnational criminal organization from Venezuela are accused of breaking into a home and threatening the occupants at gunpoint.

    Pablo Jose Fernandez Gil, 34; Raquel Yudith Fagundez Pitire, 36, of West Valley City; and Kender Alberto Brieo Quijada, 18, were each charged Friday in 3rd District Court with aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony; and five counts of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony. Each charge is subject to gang-enhancement penalties at sentencing if convicted, according to court records.

    While responding to a report of a burglary on Nov. 1, Unified police officers reported spotting the vehicle of the intruders near 3900 South and 700 West and pulled it over. Gil, Quijada and Pitire were all taken into custody.

    "Investigators confirmed that Pitire, Gil and Quijada are part of the Tren de Aragua criminal organization," according to charging documents.

    As detectives sorted through what had happened, they said they learned that the trio had barged into a residence and pointed guns at the four people inside. "Gil told everyone he was going to kill them if they did not leave their girls alone," one witness told police, according to the charges.

    You may have missed it because the story won’t drive more gun control, but a deranged maniac murdered three people in New York City by stabbing them to death at locations all around the city. What does Mayor McCheese plan to do to keep New Yorkers safe from such things? 

    FEMA is on the hot seat after one of their supervisors was caught telling her people to avoid houses with “Trump” signs or flags. The State of Florida is suing and more details are coming out about the weaponization of Washington bureaucracies.
