Conversations with Star Wars Cast, Crew and Creators
Today is an interview with the closest I have ever gotten to a real life Jedi: best-selling author Steven Barnes.
In addition to an incredible amount of science fiction books and stories, Star Wars fans will know Mr. Barnes best as the author of 2004’s Star Wars: The Cestus Deception novel and now, 20 years later, this week’s Mace Windu: The Glass Abyss.
Thank you so much again to Mr. Barnes for taking the time to impart such passion, wisdom, and inspiration in such a short time. Really just mind-boggling stuff.
His latest novel, The Glass Abyss came out yesterday, and I highly recommend it. Thank you to Meghan at Random House Worlds for setting all of this up. You can buy the book here.
In other news … I co-wrote an official Star Wars book. I cannot believe it. Star Wars Encyclopedia from DK Books is coming out next month and can be pre-ordered now. More info to come, believe me.

Today is an interview I have wanted to record since I was 8 years old – the incredibly talented Ahmed Best. He, of course, played Jar Jar Binks beginning with Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, as well as Jedi Master Kelleran Beq beginning with Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge and most recently in Star Wars: The Mandalorian.
He changed movie-making forever, and is currently working to change the rest of the world too.
This was recorded live at this summer’s Rebel Scum Con and was a true dream come true.
Thank you so much to Mr. Best for taking the time to impart such passion, wisdom, and inspiration in such a short time. Thank you as well to manager Zach Avino and Alliance Appearance Agency for making this happen. Their next appearance together will be at SpaceCon San Antonio.
In other news … I co-wrote an official Star Wars book. I cannot believe it. Star Wars Encyclopedia from DK Books is coming out next month and can be pre-ordered now. More info to come, believe me.

Today is a very special three part episode, recorded live at this summer’s Rebel Scum Con … I interviewed three different talented actresses from the prequel trilogy: Michonne Bourriague who played Aurra Sing in The Phantom Menace, Nalini Krishan who played Barriss Offee in Attack of the Clones, and Amy Allen who played Aayla Secura in both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.
This is such a blast of an episode … I am such a fan of all three of these very talented, very kind people and it was such a thrill to finally talk with each of them. It warmed my little prequel kid heart to do so.
Make sure you are following each of them on social media:
Our last episode from Rebel Scum Con is coming next week ... the long-awaited interview with Ahmed Best so … stay tuned.
In other news … I co-wrote an official Star Wars book. I cannot believe it. Star Wars Encyclopedia from DK Books is coming out this fall and can be pre-ordered now. More info to come, believe me.

Today marks the return of the great Misty Rosas, incredibly talented performance artist behind Kuiil and Frog Lady, as well as the Ugnaught First Mate “Smee” and the Snaggletooth Bartender in all three seasons of The Mandalorian.
There is so much to catch up on since the last time “she has spoken” on this show … way back on Episode 84.
Misty is always such a joy to talk with. She is such an inspiration, and embodies so many of my favorite characters in The Mandalorian.
Make sure you are following her on Instagram, @MissMistyRosas

Today is a rare conversation with Thaine Morris, an Oscar-nominated special effects artist, who worked as a pyrotechnician blowing up many many things on many many movies, including The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Return of the Jedi.
This was recorded live at this summer’s REBEL SCUM CON, and is full of great stories of Mr. Morris’ time working in a galaxy far, far away.
Mr. Morris was such a good sport and chatted all about his incredible, indelible work. He is a true artist, and it was a real honor to talk to him

This was recorded live at this summer’s Rebel Scum Con, and is full of great stories of Mr. Morton’s time in Star Wars, as well as The Shining.
It is always such an honor to talk with these Original Trilogy legends, and especially a man behind the mando mask.

Today's quick episode is a roundtable conversation with the legendary voice actor Dee Bradley Baker. He is best known, of course, for his incredible work as the voice of the clones in many animation projects (including Star Wars: The Bad Batch), as well as now Nubs in Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures.
Lucasfilm brought several fan creators together to ask him all sorts of questions, in the lead-up to the premiere of Young Jedi Adventures: Season 2 ... including me!
Other panelists included: Full of Sith, Jedi News, Star Wars Explained, The Resistance Broadcast, and Triad of the Force.
Thank you so much again to Lucasfilm for inviting me to participate in this roundtable conversation. Dee is such a thoughtful interviewee and his responses were really rather wonderful.
Season 2 of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures premieres today, August 14, on Disney+.
A ton of episodes from Rebel Scum Con are coming VERY SOON, including Ahmed Best so … stay tuned.

Today is my conversation with C. Andrew Nelson, who has portrayed Darth Vader 70 times for various Lucasfilm appearances, including video games and the Star Wars Special Editions. He also is a talented visual effects artist, with a long career at LucasArts and then at ILM for the first two prequels.
This episode is sponsored by Rebel Scum Con, which is a Star Wars focused show in the DFW area happening in late June.
Andrew is one of the many great guests that are scheduled to attend the convention, and stay tuned after our interview for a conversation with Rebel Scum’s Chief Media Officer, my pal, Bobby Robertson.
Thank you so much again to Andrew for coming on and telling such great stories, as well as Bobby and the entire Rebel Scum Con and Order 66 team for helping to coordinate this. I cannot wait to go to the convention, which Is taking place June 27-30 at the Marriott Dallas Allen Convention Center. More info below!

Today is my conversation with legendary prequel concept artist, Warren Fu, live from South by Southwest 2024.
We dive into Warren’s incredible contributions to these movies, including MagnaGuards, The High Republic's vector ships, and, of course, General Grievous. From there, we take a deep dive into his wildly prolific music video career, and especially his work with Daft Punk. This is such an incredible conversation and may truly be my favorite interview yet.
Thank you so much again to Warren for his time and flexibility while he was in Austin, and allowing me to come to his hotel armed with art books and action figures for reference. His incredible portfolio can be found here.
A huge thank you, as well, to Li-Wei from Partizan for helping coordinate this, and an EXTRA huge thanks to guest producer Alyssa Vidales, who absolutely crushed it and helped make this live recording go super smoothly

Today is my conversation with one of my favorite Star Wars authors, John Jackson Miller.
We talk all about the beginnings of his career, as well as his iconic work on the Knights of the Old Republic, Kenobi, A New Dawn and his latest novel, Star Wars: The Living Force (out now!). It’s a fantastic conversation and I can’t wait for you to hear it.
The Living Force is now available anywhere you buy your books, and I highly recommend it: https://amzn.to/3PZ3suK
I also recommend delving into his KOTOR run, especially if you have a Marvel Unlimited subscription. Just awesome stuff.
Next week is my live conversation with prequel concept artist Warren Fu.

Last week, it was reported that Bill Hargreaves had passed away. Of course, Mr. Hargreaves was known to Star Wars fans as the father of IG-88, as well as prop maker and droid creator for EV-9D9, probots, B’omarr monks, and mynocks.
This conversation features Bill's start working on Alien all the way to his tortuous coat hanger creation for Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Rest in peace.
