Ep 18 | Fatigue is killing businesses

Fatigue is robbing founders, especially founders of color from the opportunity to build long-standing, legacy businesses. And two large contributing factors to that fatigue is building a personal brand as a marketing strategy and lack of capital to build a team and scale a company. To ignore the impact that these two things are having on the mental health of founders is ignorant at best and negligent at worst.

This episode is bringing to light a conversation that has been had many times in private and should be had in public so that the entrepreniral ecosystem can support founders properly.

Ep 16 | Taking Back Control of your Marketing

When we outsource marketing, it's often to hand over daily execution and get some things off our plates. You want to grow your business, and have tried hiring social media managers and virtual assistants. But you aren’t seeing the results you anticipated. You’re disappointed by their performance, and they're doing things you never intended for them to do, or worst of all, they're not doing anything at all.

What could possibly be going on? Well. I'm here to explain why and what to do about it.

    Ep 11 | A Lesson On Surrender

“To surrender is to stop resisting an enemy or opponent and to submit to authority.  To surrender is to let go, not to be out of control. To surrender is to let things happen for you and not to you.”

There’s always a reason why things are happening. That’s why you need to learn to surrender.

The more anxious that you get,  it is harder to hold and experience all of life's goodness.  If you're constantly in a state of lack, if you're constantly in a state of chaos, you will never feel peace.

If you're constantly in a state of burnout, and you keep on trying to calculate and plan and strategize all of the little moves in your life, then every single decision will always come with a very heavyweight. I encourage you to stop trying to direct your life and instead follow a series of perfectly fortunate events.

I want to leave these three things that you can think about as you start to accept and go with the flow and surrender to the things that are happening for you and not to you.

    1. The first thing is for you to really find peace for yourself, to slow down, to quiet your mind, to understand what you really want and why you really want those things.  And then to see how serendipitous life is and see how life starts to kind of leave you little breadcrumbs to get you to your final destination.
    2. The next thing I want you to consider is how you can live in the present moment. So live moment to moment and day today. Instead of constantly living in the future or living in the past. By trying to control the present, by avoiding the past and constantly thinking about the future, you don't actually get to participate in it. You don't actually get to enjoy it. You don't actually get to be present because you’re constantly living in another reality. You’re constantly living in another state of time. The only time that we have, the only time that we can live, is the present. And you rob yourself of the opportunity when you choose to live in the future or the past.
    3. The last thing to do in terms of surrender is to stop trying to constantly protect yourself and instead consider saying yes. When we are constantly in a state of chaos and when we're constantly in a state of protecting ourselves, we end up shutting things, people, and opportunities that are assigned to us. What if you said yes? What would happen if you said yes? What kind of life would you live?

I hope that this episode resonates with you. That you are able to live in the present moment. That you're able to say yes more. That you're able to really understand what is happening for you and not to you and choose to live a life that feels good because you deserve it.

Ep 10 | Eliminating Pride for Profitable Pivots with Fallon Rice Scott

Our guest and my good friend, Fallon Rice Scott left Corporate America and her job as a CPA for a Fortune 100 company and pivoted to direct sales and network marketing. After rising to the top of her company within 2 years, she then pivoted to creating her own agency.

A  CPA. A visionary. An advocate of freedom and sustainability.

She embraced uncertainty and vulnerability to survive and be on top of her game. This episode will cover how she managed to pay down a $240k student loan in debt and got her dream wedding and honeymoon debt-free. We dive into the changes she had to make mentally and spiritually in order to navigate the shame that can be associated with debt, the MLM industry, and then transitioning to traditional entrepreneurship.

“God knows where you need to be. God knows what you need before you need it. God burst so much purpose out of pain it pushed me to this super uncomfortable place that he was able to use. God can take all and will take all of your experiences to create something new for you to do for somebody else's and make an impact, a difference in people’s lives.” - Fallon Rice Scott.
