Why Free Advice Is Keeping You Underpaid

I’m unpacking why free advice might be the very thing keeping you underpaid—and how to shift from being consumed to being invested in.

In this solo episode of Woman of Influence, I’m sharing what the past few weeks have looked like here in Nashville—from navigating a historic ice storm to hosting my first in-person retreat in over two years—and how all of it led me back to a conversation I’ve been having repeatedly with my clients: the real cost of free advice. I take you inside the identity shift required to stop over-giving, stop confusing engagement with impact, and start being seen as a paid, trusted authority instead of a generous but invisible one.

I break down why free content is a relationship, not a strategy, how it conditions your audience when you’re not intentional, and why information alone never creates true transformation. I also share the moment a longtime follower told me exactly why she’d never invest in my work—and how that changed everything. If you’ve ever felt quietly resentful of giving so much without seeing it convert, this episode will help you reframe free content, clarify where real transformation begins, and step into leadership that’s aligned, paid, and chosen.

A Sneak Peek Inside My Coaching Call: Selling Without Convincing!

In this episode, I’m inviting you behind the scenes for a real, unfiltered sneak peek into a live coaching call inside The Revenue Accelerator. No polish, no edits—just me meeting my clients where they are and naming the patterns I see show up again and again for smart, seasoned women when it comes to selling, launching, and leading with clarity. I break down why webinars, masterclasses, and trainings aren’t meant to convince or overteach, but to help your audience make a clean, safe decision—and how trying to prove your depth often creates resistance instead of conversion.

I also share why simplicity doesn’t mean shallow, why intrigue opens the door but clarity closes the gap, and how your brilliance actually lands more powerfully when the structure underneath it is clean and grounded. This episode isn’t about more tactics—it’s about unlearning outdated models, trusting yourself at a higher level, and learning how to lead people to a clear yes without force, pressure, or over-explaining. If you’ve ever felt like your nuance makes things harder instead of easier, this conversation will help everything click.

“  Unless I reframe that fear, no amount of information in a masterclass is going to get them to a point of decision. So I have to lower resistance, I have to reframe fear, and I have to make sure that the path that I am showing them is available to them, feels safer than staying where they are.” - Julie Solomon

“ If you notice yourself second guessing , or adding more, or wanting to explain more, that's not a flaw. It's so common. But it's also a signal that you're having to unlearn an old model to step into a more precise one. And that's exactly the work that we're doing here.”  - Julie Solomon

The Power of the Pause: Why You’re Not Behind!

In this episode, I’m sharing why the most overlooked leadership skill for high-level women right now isn’t discipline, hustle, or having the perfect plan—it’s the ability to pause without spiraling. I talk about why January creates so much nervous system dysregulation, how comparison turns us into “gap thinkers,” and why most women aren’t behind at all—they’re just measuring their lives with the wrong ruler. This conversation is a reminder that clarity doesn’t come from pushing harder, but from creating space to actually hear yourself again.

I also open up about how pausing has transformed the way I steward my business, my voice, and my identity—especially after a profound personal experience that reshaped how I understand safety, leadership, and provision. I talk about why learning to hold the process matters more than chasing the outcome, why trying to be everything to everyone creates exhaustion, and how true influence comes from honoring your specific lane and genius. This episode is an invitation to slow down, release control, and trust that what you’re preparing for in the pause is what allows the harvest to come.

    QUOTABLES:

“  I just want you to hear me clearly with this. You do not need to sprint into the new year. You do not need to prove January. You do not need to panic plan. You do not need to aggressively map out your entire year in a week like your life depends on it. You don't have to have the perfect setup or the perfect studio, or the perfect launch or whatever thing that you're making up and telling yourself that you need in order to make something great because most women  don't enter the new year with a strategy problem. Most women enter the new year with nervous system dysregulation.” - Julie Solomon

“ It's not to say that goals are bad. It's not to say that measuring how far we've come to where we wanna be is bad. It's just that a lot of women are measuring their lives with a ruler that was never meant to measure their actual progress, their actual success. And that's the thing most women are not behind. They're just measuring with the wrong ruler, and you cannot build a powerful year from some distorted measuring stick.”  - Julie Solomon

Safety Before Speed! The Real Path to Clarity

In this solo episode, I explore why feeling unsettled, impatient, or slightly off isn’t a sign that something is wrong—but a signal that you’re expanding into a new level of leadership. I unpack how safety, not speed, creates clarity, and why so many high-achieving women misinterpret nervous system discomfort as failure. This conversation reframes uncertainty as part of the embodiment process required for your next level of visibility, authority, and impact.

I also share how slowing down, regulating your energy, and fully embodying your message allows you to hold more—more clients, more revenue, and more responsibility—without burnout. This episode is an invitation to stop forcing clarity and instead become the woman who can sustain what she’s asking for.

“ Most women are not confused, especially when they come into my world. Even if they think they are, they are not confused. But man, are they uncomfortable. And we have been taught to fix that discomfort instead of listening to it and letting it be a teacher that actually guides us to the best decisions that we can make next.” - Julie Solomon

“ I'm not here to help you post and be seen. Anyone can do that. I'm here to help you post to be remembered and paid by the right people. I want you to have buyers, not followers. Because you cannot execute conversion first content from a rushed, reactive, cluttered, nervous system. It just doesn't happen. Conversion requires precision, intention, pausing, leadership. Yes, we do build content that collapses the buying gap. We need that too. But first we have to build the woman who can hold it.”  - Julie Solomon

Money, Meaning, and Marriage: How We Navigate Partnership Through Change with Johnathon Schaech

In this week's episode, I sit down with my husband, Johnathon Schaech, for a candid look into marriage, money, identity, and creative purpose. Together, we unpack what our financial fights have really been about, how fear shows up for each of us, and why trust — not control — has become the foundation of our partnership.

John shares openly about the evolution of his career, the impact sobriety has had on his life and work, and how our move to Nashville restored a sense of peace he didn’t even realize he was missing. We talk honestly about what it looks like to support each other’s dreams without competition, how we navigated my many business reinventions, and why letting go — of perfectionism, chaos, and old stories — has expanded everything from our marriage to our creative expression.

This conversation is especially for the women whose partners may not yet fully understand their entrepreneurial dreams. We reflect on the values that have carried us through 13 years of growth — faith, honesty, sovereignty, and mutual respect — and what it means to choose each other again and again.

“ When we got married that day on the beach, it wasn't glamor. It was just real. And I tried to live up to those values with you and God and everything I've learned over the course of these years made that commitment to you. 2026 Is the Year of Harvest: You’re Not Late, You’re Ready

In this solo episode, I’m welcoming in 2026 with what feels like a deep exhale and a powerful reframe: this is the year of harvest. After years of shedding, refining, and staying faithful through seasons that didn’t always make sense, I share why I believe this is the moment where the fruit of that work finally becomes visible. We talk about what harvest really means in leadership and business—not hustling harder, but refining, simplifying, and allowing what’s already working to mature.

I explore why misalignment often shows up right before expansion, how guilt can surface when you want to change what you once prayed for, and why less doesn’t mean failure—it often means precision. I also walk you through the different ways you can work with me in 2026, from The Growth Collective to the Brand Accelerator, Revenue Accelerator, and my in-person UNSCRIPTED retreat. This episode is an invitation to stop forcing, trust your evolution, and step into the season where your business finally matches the woman you’ve become.

“  Truly one of the most beautiful parts of growth as a woman and as a leader is when you finally honor yourself and your evolution, and you give yourself the permission to realign your business with not who you were. But who you are today, and most importantly, where you are going.” - Julie Solomon

“ If you're feeling that itchiness just use this as a reminder to not gaslight yourself. Because sometimes that discomfort, sometimes that itchiness is just that growth edge. It's just you getting ready to leave this level of the base camp to a sin to another one, and most often something just isn't vibing with where you are anymore or with who you are anymore. And that's okay. That's not a crisis. That is literally the harvest about to take shape.” - Julie Solomon

Choosing Alignment Over Pressure in Every Season

In this special flip series episode, I sit down with my dear friend Lindsey Schwartz for an honest, expansive conversation about leadership, identity, and what it really takes to build meaningful success without abandoning yourself along the way. We talk about how seasons of growth often require shedding old expectations, redefining ambition, and trusting the inner knowing that calls you toward more alignment—not more pressure.

Lindsey shares her journey of evolving as a leader, embracing uncertainty, and choosing purpose over perfection. Together, we explore boundaries, self-trust, and why slowing down, listening deeply, and honoring your values can actually create more impact, not less.

This episode is for the woman who feels herself changing, who’s ready to lead with clarity and conviction, and who wants her life and business to reflect who she truly is becoming.

Why Slowing Down Can Actually Move You Forward Faster

In this special flip episode, I join my friend Danielle Amos for a grounded, honest conversation about growth, leadership, and what it really looks like to build a business that supports your life—not consumes it. We talk about redefining success beyond hustle, releasing the pressure to constantly do more, and creating sustainable rhythms that honor both ambition and wellbeing.

I share how my own definition of success has evolved over the years, why capacity matters more than speed, and how clarity, boundaries, and intentional choices create long-term impact. Danielle and I explore the mindset shifts required to scale without burnout, lead with integrity, and trust that slowing down can actually move you forward faster.

This episode is for the woman who wants to grow with intention, lead with peace, and build something meaningful that lasts—without sacrificing herself in the process.

When Your Business Evolves Faster Than Your Voice

In this episode, I sit down with my friend Samantha Skelly for a deeply honest conversation about identity, presence, and what it really means to lead from your highest self. We talk about releasing performative success, why boredom in business can actually be a sign of regulation and alignment, and how creative play outside of your work can unlock your next level of clarity and fulfillment.

I share my philosophy on identity-based messaging, why serving a former version of yourself can cap your growth, and how speaking to the highest version of your client creates cleaner energy, stronger resonance, and more aligned opportunities. We also explore embodiment, aspiration-based messaging, and the simple but powerful practice I return to daily: be her now.

This episode is for the woman who feels herself evolving, who’s ready to stop shrinking or over-explaining, and who wants her business, message, and life to finally feel as aligned as the woman she’s becoming.

    QUOTABLES:

“  A brand is just the perception of whatever messaging. Whether it's Audio, visual, static, digital. Whatever kind of message that you are putting out there. And as long as it's corralled mostly to where people want it to be, then like, we're good to go. But most of the time it's not corralled.” - Julie Solomon

“   I don't subscribe to pain based marketing. Like whenever people do that and I get an email like that, I'm like, get outta here. Like that's literally how I feel. I'm like, Ugh. But then when I get someone's email and it's aspirational and it's helping me see a future version of myself, I get this like a aliveness and this like champagne bubbly feeling in my body. I'm like, whatever that is, I'm so in.” - Samantha Skelly

The Power of Noticing What’s Already Yours

In this solo episode, I explore a powerful shift that’s been reshaping my life and leadership: moving from owning my blessings to truly stewarding them. I share how a simple but confronting truth—“It’s not good stewardship to complain about what God has already given you”—led me to reevaluate the way I was approaching my marriage, business, faith, and daily peace.

Through honest reflections on success, comparison, and control, I walk you through the difference between routine and practice, ownership and stewardship, and why happiness isn’t something we chase—it’s something we notice. I also share the daily gratitude rituals and spiritual practices that have grounded me in presence, softened my ambition, and brought peace back into my home, my work, and my identity.

If you're ready to release pressure, reconnect to what’s already here, and lead from a deeper place of trust, this episode will feel like coming home.

    QUOTABLES:

“ My marriage, my family, my business, my home, even the freedom I have to sit here and speak with you like this. At one point in my life, every single one of those things was something I prayed for, and now they're part of my everyday reality. But somewhere along the way, I stopped treating them like miracles, and I started treating them like they were something that needed maintenance. And that's where the gratitude gap begins.” - Julie Solomon

“  There are three things that will steal your gratitude faster than anything else. Money, property, and prestige. When you put yourself in the driver's seat of those three. When you start idolizing your money, your property, or your prestige, things start to get shaky. Because that's when you start thinking you are the source of it all instead of the steward.” - Julie Solomon

From Ownership to Stewardship: The Shift That Changes Everything

In this week’s episode, I am opening up about the surprising fear that can surface when everything you prayed for finally arrives — the clients, the clarity, the calm — and how your nervous system often needs time to catch up to your blessings. I share my personal shift from owning my business to stewarding it, and how that single mindset change has rewritten my entire relationship with work, worthiness, and leadership.

We explore why striving creates ceilings, why stewardship creates capacity, and how to lead from your highest identity instead of your hustling self. Through personal stories, client breakthroughs, spiritual lessons, and practical tools like “the pause,” outreach calls, and my weekly Highest Self Filter, I will walk you through the inner recalibration required to hold more without hustling more.

This is an episode for the woman who feels change rising inside her, who knows she's outgrown her old way of working, and who’s ready to lead with clarity, peace, and faith instead of pressure.

    QUOTABLES:

“ Healing doesn't happen in the breakthrough. It happens in the practice.” - Julie Solomon

“ There was a time when I wore busyness, like a badge of honor. My working self was addicted to being useful. She said yes to everything because she believed saying no would make her irrelevant. Every yes was just proof that she could handle it. Every late night email was this quiet audition for worthiness, but worthiness doesn't live in overdrive. It lives in peace, and peace doesn't prove. It just is when you allow it to come in.” - Julie Solomon
