    Medicare: How to Protect Your Health Choices
    Twila Brase is president and co-founder of Citizens' Council for Health Freedom, a national patient-centered, privacy-focused, free-market policy organization to support health care choices, individualized patient care and medical and genetic privacy. She is the speaker on the daily Health Freedom Minute.Twila believes that people are being misled when it comes to things like health care quality, standards of care and privacy. On the quality issue, she indicated that quality is whatever the government says it is and in this case they say it's compliance. For example, under COVID, quality was viewed by the government as the number of people that were vaccinated or a certain percentage of people in a clinic receiving the flu vaccine. This is greatly different from patients who define quality as access to a physician instead of a non-physician or more time spent with their doctor. Instead patients are confronted with things like limited access to care, complying with whatever they're told or electronic health records and reporting the data of patients.So how does this affect those 65 and older who have to make choices in regard to their health care? What are the differences between traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage?     Election’s Impact on Abortion
    Rev. Jim Harden is the president and CEO of CompassCare Pregnancy Services in New York.For Reverend Harden, making America great again requires making America moral again and he sees an opportunity for just that with Trump back in the White House. That means an opportunity for the church as well. He also noted that the government doesn't have the ability to make America moral but it does have the ability to reward those who do good and to punish those who do bad things. Vice President Kamala Harris centered her election efforts almost entirely on abortion, although she called it "reproductive choice." Reverend Harden called her defeat a "sound beating" signaling that the American people want to distance themselves from abortion just as they distanced themselves from the abortion czar.Tim Walz also shares blame as he signed a bill that allows abortion through all nine months of pregnancy in Minnesota. Reverend Harden believes that such abortion efforts use women, under the guise of reproductive rights, to gain power. Proof of this could be seen when they were confronted with the question of when, during a pregnancy, should there not be an abortion. The default answer was that they simply wanted to see Roe v. Wade reinstated. In addition, they'd deny that late term abortions were even taking place. Critical to this issue concerns who President-elect Trump will appoint as Secretary of Health and Human Services. Also discussed was abortion on the ballot, the Wisconsin 1849 abortion bill, what Trump can do to promote life, the stockpiling of the abortion pill and more.

    Veterans Day Tribute 2024
    It was on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 when WWI ended. Though the cease fire (armistice) was signed at 5am in the morning, it specified that 11 am would be the hour that the actual fighting would stop. Tragically, in the intervening 6 hours of fighting, an additional 11,000 more were killed.In 1921, President Warren Harding had the remains of an unknown soldier who was killed in France brought to Arlington Cemetery and buried in what's known as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Inscribed on the tomb are these words: "Here rests in honored glory an American soldier known but to God." In 1926, President Coolidge began issuing proclamations honoring veterans every year and in 1938, the day became a legal holiday. In 1954, the name Armistice Day was changed to Veterans Day to honor all soldiers of all American wars.4 million Americans served in WWI, 16 million in WWII, nearly 7 million served in the Korean War, nearly 9 million served in the Vietnam War and from the first Gulf War to the present, 7.4 million men and women serve.While Veterans Day honors living soldiers, Memorial Day honors those who died while serving. This broadcast is Crosstalk's way of giving thanks as the phone lines were opened allowing listeners across the nation to honor a veteran on the broadcast.

She had much to say about the "fight" not being over.Earlier today President Joe Biden addressed the nation and pledged a peaceful and orderly transfer of power.New York Attorney General Letitia James vows to continue using the rule of law against President Trump.Jim shared that during this election season, media was extremely biased in favor of Kamala Harris and against Donald Trump moreso than ever before.Jim also shared an audio clip from Yuval Noah Harari, an advisor to Klaus Schwab at the World Economic Forum, in which he states that if Trump is re-elected, it could be a death blow to the global order.Listen to hear more updates and reactions from listeners. In the early morning hours this morning with having crossed the 270 electoral vote threshold, President Donald Trump was declared the projected winner. Adding to his total, just a short while ago the Associated Press projected Donald Trump to also win Michigan.It's reported that Vice-President Harris called President Trump a short while ago to concede. His return to the White House makes him the second president to ever serve non-consecutive terms. The only other to do this was Grover Cleveland who was the 22nd and 24th president.President Trump said he would usher in the "golden age of America" in his victory speech. The markets surged at opening this morning. Abortion was on the ballot in 10 states as were other important issues. Here's your weekly sample:--Nearly 62 million Americans had already cast an election ballot by early afternoon yesterday according to the University of Florida Election Lab.--A democratic operative is on video explaining the process for influencing the results of an election.--GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump's campaign sent a letter to the Colorado Secretary of State's office requesting that it bolster election security.--A federal appeals court ruled that the Mississippi law that allows mail ballots to come in up to five days after Election Day is illegal, because voters need to cast their ballots by Election Day.--Someone in the control room at a local ABC-TV affiliate messed up. WNEP-TV in the Scranton area, was airing a Formula One race on October 27th when viewers noticed that Kamala Harris had won Pennsylvania by 5 points. They said it was a test for election night.--Many Pennsylvania voters are reporting that they still haven't received their mail-in ballots, days away from the 2024 election.--A glitch exists in some types of Dominion voting machines. Voters who use a Dominion ICX voter assist terminal will experience an issue if they want to vote for candidates of both parties according to Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson. --Monday's ruling from the Nevada Supreme Court on accepting mail-in ballots without a postmark, and after the election, strikes a devastating blow to election integrity for years to come.
