  • 52 Bible verses to memorize for peace in 2025

Are you seeking peace as you step into 2025? The Bible reminds us that Jesus, the Prince of Peace, offers a calm that surpasses understanding, even in life’s most uncertain moments. To help you embrace His peace daily, we’ve compiled 52 Bible verses – one for every week of the year – to encourage your heart, steady your mind, and remind you of the unshakable hope found in Him. Let’s journey together and anchor ourselves in His promises for the year ahead.

Weeks 1-13: Peace as God’s Gift

  • Your generosity makes a difference

When you give to Fairhaven, your generosity makes a profound impact. One of the best ways to make a Kingdom difference is by supporting the local church, and your gifts help people find hope here in the Dayton area and around the world!

Your generosity fuels ministries that transform lives – equipping children, students, and adults to follow Jesus, supporting under-resourced individuals and families in our community, and empowering our global staff to bring the Gospel to the farthest corners of the earth.

Each Sunday in December, we’re sharing a different story that highlights how your giving makes a difference. Together, let’s build a legacy of hope that extends beyond what any of us could do alone!

DECEMBER 1: Embodying the hope of Jesus

Over the past two months, we’ve explored the six timeless essentials of our vision to embrace and embody the hope of Jesus. These essentials aren’t just ideas; they’re a call to action, a roadmap for transforming lives through faith, generosity, and service. Your giving will help bring this vision to life, equipping our church to take next steps to embody hope in tangible ways that impact individuals, families, and communities.

DECEMBER 8: Empowering the next generation

We’re passionate about equipping kids, students, and residents to lead and live as Christ-followers. This year, kids across our campuses memorized over 1,000 Bible verses, writing God’s Word on their hearts. Our residents (young leaders in ministry training) are stepping into meaningful leadership roles. Across all campuses, student ministries are growing and reaching more students than ever with the love of Jesus. Your generosity ensures the next generation is ready to lead with faith and purpose.

DECEMBER 15: Love and care for others

At Fairhaven, we’re committed to being the hands and feet of Jesus, especially for people in crisis and those who do not know Him. From local initiatives like providing Christmas gifts and recovery ministries like Celebrate Recovery to global missions and disaster relief, your generosity enables us to embody Jesus’ love and care for those in need.

    DECEMBER 22: Inspiring next steps

We celebrate every step people take in their faith journey, from joining a group, to deciding to follow Jesus. This year alone, over 670 people made decisions for Jesus, and 180 were baptized across all our campuses! One inspiring story is Dave Philips, who, at 84 years old, chose to be baptized as a way to witness to his family. His bold step opened the door for meaningful conversations about faith with his children and grandchildren. Your generosity makes stories like Dave’s possible, creating opportunities for people to take their next steps toward embodying Jesus.

    Make your year-end gift today

Your generosity goes above and beyond, supporting our vision to share the hope of Jesus and invest in life-changing ministries that will influence generations to come. Together, let’s finish the year strong and prepare to make an even greater Kingdom impact in 2025.

  • How to use your Advent devotional kit

Thanks for purchasing an Advent devotional kit! Advent wreaths and candles have historically been used in churches, but many Christians have also adopted this tradition as a way of commemorating Advent in their homes.

We’re excited to walk through this devotional together as a church family, and we pray it strengthens your connection with God and helps you create some meaningful moments with friends and family.

Here is a guide for using the Advent devotional kit in your home.

    Devotional cards

Together, these cards are a devotional for the entire season of Advent, which starts four Sundays before Christmas. In 2024, Advent begins on Sunday, December 1.

There is one card for each day from December 1 through December 25, as well as some additional cards you can use in future years when Advent is longer. We encourage you to display the cards in their stand in a prominent place in your home, both as an addition to your decor and as a reminder to walk through the devotional each day.

We suggest setting a time to sit down and reflect on the devotional and making this part of your daily routine, and we encourage doing this together with friends or family! Read the Scripture, reflect on the devotional, and pray with one another.

Each day, move the front card to the back of the stack to reveal the next day’s card with a new theme and illustration. Do this each day until December 24, when you’ll skip to the Christmas Eve card, and then use the Christmas Day card on December 25.

WATCH VIDEO: How to use your Advent Devotional Kit

    Candles

If you purchased candles with your kit, you can add to your experience by lighting the candles while you do the devotion, while you eat a meal, or at another time of your choosing.

    • During week one (days 1-7), light only the first candle (farthest left).
    • During week two (days 8-14), light the first and second candles (farthest left and farthest right).
    • During week three, light the first, second, and third candles (see graphic below).
    • During week four, light the first, second, third, and fourth candles (see graphic below).
    • On Christmas Day, light all five candles!

More devotional content on the Fairhaven app

On weekdays (Monday-Friday) during Advent, our staff will share a daily video reflections in the Fairhaven app. Here’s how to find them:

    1. Open the Fairhaven App
    2. Tap Daily
    3. Walk through the prompts
    4. The video will be in the third section: Reflect on God’s Word
