Luke 10:1-2
After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. And he said to them, âThe harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."
Matthew 9:35-38
And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, âThe harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.â
John 4:31-35
Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, saying, âRabbi, eat.â But he said to them, âI have food to eat that you do not know about.â So the disciples said to one another, âHas anyone brought him something to eat?â Jesus said to them, âMy food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work. Do you not say, âThere are yet four months, then comes the harvestâ? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.Â
Isaiah 37:30-32
âThis will be the sign for you, Hezekiah:Â
âThis year you will eat what grows by itself,
and the second year what springs from that.Â
But in the third year sow and reap,
plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
Once more a remnant of the kingdom of Judah
will take root below and bear fruit above.
For out of Jerusalem will come a remnant,
and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
will accomplish this."
Luke 17:11-19
Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, âJesus, Master, have pity on us!âÂ
When he saw them, he said, âGo, show yourselves to the priests.â And as they went, they were cleansed.Â
One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesusâ feet and thanked himâand he was a Samaritan.Â
Jesus asked, âWere not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?â Then he said to him, âRise and go; your faith has made you well.â

Mark 5:1-20
They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes. When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure spirit came from the tombs to meet him. This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.Â
When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. He shouted at the top of his voice, âWhat do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In Godâs name donât torture me!â For Jesus had said to him, âCome out of this man, you impure spirit!âÂ
Then Jesus asked him, âWhat is your name?âÂ
âMy name is Legion,â he replied, âfor we are many.â And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.Â
A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside. The demons begged Jesus, âSend us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.â He gave them permission, and the impure spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.Â
Those tending the pigs ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. Those who had seen it told the people what had happened to the demon-possessed manâand told about the pigs as well. Then the people began to plead with Jesus to leave their region.Â
As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, âGo home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.â So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed. '
Mark 4:35-41
That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, âLet us go over to the other side.â Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, âTeacher, donât you care if we drown?âÂ
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, âQuiet! Be still!â Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.Â
He said to his disciples, âWhy are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?âÂ
They were terrified and asked each other, âWho is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!â'
