Good news is meant to be shared. When the shepherds heard the Good News that Jesus, the Messiah, was born to be their Savior, they spread the news to many others. Pastor Daniel shared what to do with the Good News, which is personal, not private, and powerful. The Good News will change your life and the life of others.
In the search for joy, it is never found in perfection or control, but rather in surrender to Jesus. Pastor Daniel shows us how true is found in Jesus through surrender, freedom, and relationship.Â
Life brings discomfort, but God promises His people comfort in the midst of their struggles. Berchman Paul shows us that because of who Jesus is, we can trust that everything we experience will be for our good and for His glory.Â
The Bible says that the power of life and death is in the tongue. Pastor Daniel teaches us just how powerful our words are, and how speaking words of life has the power to transform hearts.Â
God calls us to give cheerfully and not reluctantly or under compulsion. Pastor Daniel uses the story of Mary breaking her jar as a sacrifice to Jesus to illustrate the beauty that comes from giving our very best to God.Â
God’s word shows us that there is always a pattern to His promises. Pastor Daniel uses the story of Abraham to illustrate how there needs to first be a releasing before we receive what God has for us.
God asks that we bring Him our first and best gift. Pastor Daniel shows us how when we put God first in our lives, we can live in freedom, just as God desires for us.Â
Jesus loves the church, and we must love what Jesus loves. Pastor Daniel used an analogy of adding logs to a fire to keep the fire going to explain the importance of the local church in encouraging our walk with Jesus and in keeping our passion for Christ and the local church burning hot. He did so by describing three ways we can fan the flame of our heart for God’s house: 1) pray for your church, 2) prioritize your church, and 3) participate in your church.
Who you allow to sit around the table of your life matters greatly. Pastor Daniel teaches us the dangers of holding onto unforgiveness, and how making room for the grace of God at our table can release us from the bondage of bitterness.Â
When we first become believers, it often comes naturally to be excited about every aspect of our lives in Christ, but this can also have a tendency to wear off as we mature in our walk. Pastor Daniel shows us how through embracing the power of the Holy Spirit, we can live every day with the same passion as we did when we first began.Â
While we cannot control what happens to us, we can control how we respond. Joy is a choice, and Pastor Daniel guides us through some practical ways to choose joy in our lives this year.Â
