It's All How You Look at Things | God's View of Your Mountains

When you’re driving clear across the country, you might encounter the Rocky Mountains. A huge mountain range. Pikes Peak alone jets up more than 14,000 feet into the sky. But when you fly over those mountains on an airliner, it kinda looks like the same ground you saw an hour ago but with more . . . texture. So it is with differing perspectives. And today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie brings us God's reassuring perspective on our "mountain-sized" problems.

Between Impossible & More Impossible | Get Moving

GPS systems have come a long way over the years. Not only can they show the best route, but traffic along the way, coffee stores, gas stations and fast food. You know exactly which way to go and how long it’ll take. But you still have to put the car in drive and get moving. And today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out the same is true in our walk with God. After we’ve prayed for direction and strength, it’s time to get moving. It’s harder to steer a parked car.

Between Impossible & More Impossible | Hope in the Impossible

We love to watch movies where the hero is stuck in an impossible situation with time running out. Will he make it? Can he make it? And he’s rescued just in the nick of time. But when WE’RE stuck in a tough spot, it’s not nearly as enjoyable. No inspiring music – maybe just an icy, lonely silence. And it may look like our time is up. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie says don’t give up hope. Instead, realize where your hope comes from.

Rebuilding the Ruins of Your Life | Sunday Message

Nehemiah was someone who saw need and did something about it. We should be the same way.

    Notes:

#1 We need to help God’s people when they are hurting.
    1 Corinthians 12:26

    #3 Nehemiah had a plan.

    Read Nehemiah 2:7–8

Nehemiah was dependent upon God, and he continued to pray.

It is important to understand how the spiritual and the practical work together.

When the time for intercession has passed,
The time for intervention has come.

    Read Nehemiah 2:11

The Hebrew word for view means to closely examine.

#4 When we are doing the will of God we will face opposition.
    Nehemiah 2:19

Whenever you are pursuing a divine opportunity there will be opposition.
    1 Corinthians 16:9

    Nehemiah 2:19

Our primary enemies are the world, the flesh, and the devil.

The world is the external enemy.
The flesh is the internal enemy.
The devil is the infernal enemy.

“Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
    James 4:7

    Read Nehemiah 3:1–4

#5 We need to find our place in the work that God is doing.

    1 Peter 4:10

Let every one of us give an offering,
    2 Corinthians 9:7

    Nehemiah 3:5

There are two kinds of people that come to church: Participators and spectators.

#6 The problem with faith breakers is they want to discourage faith makers.
    Nehemiah 2:19

    Nehemiah 3:20

The word zealously means to burn or to glow.

Baruch did not just build the wall, he did it with passion.

Jesus left the glory of heaven and came to this earth.

The Desert Song | Memorizing What Matters

One of the great tools to memorization is repetition. If we hear something over and over, we can’t help but remember. We didn’t intend to memorize the words to that TV theme, or that corny commercial, but they’re stuck in our heads. Why? Repetition. The real question is, what do we let our minds hear over and over. But the fact you’re listening now is a great step forward. And today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie brings some scriptural truth worth remembering.

The Desert Song | Choosing Lasting Joy

Smart grocery shoppers pay attention to expiration dates. You may see a dozen cartons of milk on the shelf . . . but a careful look shows that the expiration dates on some cartons are much further into the future. But sometimes we don’t think carefully about the other things of life that may affect us. Those things that bring quick enjoyment, often bring long-lasting disappointment. Coming up today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us focus on the things above. It’s a study of Moses.

The Passover: A New Beginning | Immediate, Everlasting Relief

Nearly all pain relievers on the market use the phrase “for fast, temporary relief.” Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen – they’ll give a little relief, for a little while. But when it comes to forgiveness of our sin, we’re more interest in “immediate, everlasting relief” from our guilt and guile. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, as Pastor Greg Laurie takes us to the story of the first Passover, we’ll see God provided a solution for sin that forever paid the price that had to be paid.

The Passover: A New Beginning | The Power of the Blood

New believers and non-believers can be baffled by so many references to blood in Scripture: washed in the blood, saved by the blood, the blood of the covenant, the blood of the Lamb. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, some biblical history and context as Pastor Greg Laurie takes us to the book of Exodus and Moses’ confrontation with the Pharaoh of Egypt . . . a confrontation that culminated one night in the death of all the first-born sons of Egyptians. But the Lord passed over and spared all the Jews.

The Passover: A New Beginning | Investing in What Lasts

The stock market has had some tumultuous times over the years. Trillions of dollars lost in days. In the worst of times, some weathered the storms . . . a few even had gains. What’s the difference? They knew where to invest. What investments are a sure thing? Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out we should invest our lives in our relationship with God and His plan. That’s a plan that never devalues, dwindles or depreciates.

SoCal Fires UPDATE: What You Can Do to Help Rebuild

Support the Harvest Relief Fund for the SoCal Fires at harvest.org/relief

Powerful and raging fires in the Pacific Palisades area and others have devastated vast areas here in Southern California, displacing tens of thousands of people—in our own backyard. We’re praying for the safety, strength, and endurance of the firefighters as they work to contain the flames. We also lift up the residents who have been displaced, asking for God’s protection and provision during this incredibly difficult time.

But there’s also a tangible way you can show the love of Christ to many in these dark times. Through the Harvest Relief Fund, you help us minister to people in this critical time of need as we partner with organizations, bring medical care, distribute biblical resources, and provide spiritual support to those affected by these fires. Give today and help share God’s hope with Southern California.
