Not Your Pastors Podcast

Not Your Pastor's Podcast

Based in 1996 two fictional want-to-be pastors, Alex and Jason recount the brutal butcherings of the Bible they were exposed to in the evangelical church. Then, as any low-budget 90s VHS christian special would, they travel to the future (present day) to see the impacts and repercussions of those teachings. 01 - You've Been Left Behind: The Rapture with Zack Hunt

Jason reveals to Alex that he set up a “left behind” scenario for the youth group which resulted in many tearful conversions to Christ. Alex berates the practice saying that the scare tactic isn’t the best way to lead people to the Lord. Jason disagrees and thus they consult their time machine to peer into the future church to settle the argument. In this episode they interview Zack Hunt author of “Unraptured: How End Times Theology Gets it Wrong" Out now on Amazon Connect with Zack Hunt https://www.facebook.com/zaackhunt/ https://twitter.com/ZaackHunt Connect with NYPP Facebook, Instagram, Twitter @notyourpastors Support us to get access to full length interviews for just 1 dollar a month patreon.com/notyourpastors For a full list of sources used in the making of this podumentary, please visit www.notyourpastors.com

Her dad lived a double life, and now Kerri lives with PTSD, depression, and anxiety wrestling the good memories of her father and the secret villain that he was. 87 - Excommunication and Renewal With Brandon Carleton
After growing up religious and then leaving his faith behind, Pastor Brandon Carleton started to feel like he was throwing the baby out with the bathwater. After years of deconstructing, then reconstructing his beliefs, he began to ask questions like: Is there a way to cut through religious dogma and create authentic community? What would it look like to lead from a position of not having all the answers? What if much of what we are so often taught about the Bible is only one of many ways to interpret the text? This vulnerable and contemplative book offers hope to anyone who has felt excommunicated from a traditional faith system. Through stories of trial and error, Brandon Carleton presents a different approach to faith, pastoring, and ultimately, how to find religion meaningful again. www.meaningfulagain.com Support us on Patreon! | www.patreon.com/notyourpastors Twitter, Facebook, Instagram | @notyourpastors Email: [email protected] Music: Intro: Bringing Down Broadway Break: “Something Elated” by Broke For Free Outro: “Enthusiast” by Tours
