What in the world is going on? According to The Economist magazine, the world is closed. Did God close it? Is He a God of pandemics or is he a loving God or both? What does the word of God say we, as his people, are to do in light of the circumstances we are facing?

This podcast message comes from a sermon preached at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church on February 17, 2019. We are looking at Jesus' odd words when He is the "bread of life" and his command to "eat my flesh and drink my blood". We hope this sermon helps you dig deep past our common way of thinking that Jesus, plus what He can give us, are what we need to be satisfied. In reality Jesus alone is more than enough to satisfy. This is a special podcast episode that we hesitated to post. Parker Brasfield was a well liked and loved guy from Marietta, Ga, who, to the surprise of all, took his life in mid January 2019. In the aftermath, Thomas Nelson was asked to do his memorial service which was recorded. After the service, person after person asked that we release the audio, feeling it might help others talk about suicide in a safe environment. Our hope is that in losing Parker, others might be spared. Listen and think and pray and discuss. The 10 commandments are as applicable today as they were when they were given. However, it's easy to lose sight of their importance because they're so familiar. Let's revisit them and see if we can't rediscover God's plan in giving them to us. This week we start with the first 2 commands.

Part 2 in a 3 part series on the covenants. When we understand the covenants our understanding of God's story unfolds before us. Also, the Bible begins to open in a way we can understand. This week we look at why God gave the law (commandments) to Moses and answer the question are we still suppose to obey the law or are we free from it. It's a look at the grace and truth of God's character.
