The post How to Balance Qur’an Recitation, Translation, and Tafsir? – Shaykh Faraz Rabbani appeared first on SeekersGuidance.
In this important Qur’an Circle Shaykh Faraz Rabbani will give key principles in explaining Non- Muslims entering the Sacred Precinct. On this issue Allah says:
O, believers! Indeed, the polytheists are spiritually impure, so they should not approach the Sacred Mosque after this year. If you fear poverty, Allah will enrich you out of His bounty, if He wills. Surely, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day, nor comply with what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, nor embrace the religion of truth from among those who were given the Scripture, until they pay the tax, willingly submitting, fully humbled. (Qur’an 9:28-29)
Shaykh Faraz explains what does it mean that the polytheists are impure. It is that their incorrect beliefs are vile, and displeasing to Allah. He goes on to remind the believers that one deals with people on the basis of good character while upholding justice at the same time. One gives everyone their full rights explains Shaykh Faraz.

Eat from the good things We have provided for you. And give thanks to Allah if you truly worship Him alone. He has only forbidden you to eat carrion, blood, swine, and what is slaughtered in the name of any other than Allah. But if someone is compelled by necessity—neither driven by desire nor exceeding immediate need—they will not be sinful. Surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” Sura al- Baqara:172-173

The post 05- Understanding the Divine Command – Eating of the Wholesome – Shaykh Faraz Rabbani appeared first on SeekersGuidance.
This is an excellent Circle to appreciate the Qur’an, its guidance, and rulings. Based on classical works of Qur’anic commentary (tafsir) and verses of legal rulings (ayat al-ahkam). In this podcast, Shaykh Faraz Rabbani explains The Prohibition Against Concealing Religious Knowledge (2:159-160).
Those who hide the clear proofs and guidance that We have revealed—after We made it clear for humanity in the Book—will be condemned by Allah and all those who condemn Surely those who disbelieve and die as disbelievers are condemned by Allah, the angels, and all of humanity. (Qur’an 2:159-160)
Shaykh Faraz Rabbani begins by reminding all of the importance of not concealing knowledge. Defining what is guidance, it is guidance that makes us incline toward Allah Most High when pursued in the right way and with the right motive. He goes on to explain how knowledge can have a personal good or public good, good in this world or the next, and the good could be direct or indirect.
Shaykh Faraz goes on to explain what is meant by a devotional ruling, and why it is important. Shaykh Faraz then starts to explain the verses 2:159-160 of Surat al Baqara in the Qur’an. Explaining what is the general cause and understanding of the verses. That is concealing the knowledge of the previous scriptures. He continues by expounding on what is meant by Allah cursing, and that is being away from diving mercy.
Shaykh Faraz explains how a verse’s specific meanings around its revelation do not negate its general meaning. He explained what is meant by concealing knowledge in Islam.
The ending key lessons from verses 159-160 of Surat al-Baqara are that one should make religion both manifest and accessible to all, and all have an obligation to not only support Institutions but the scholars as well.
