To help explain how Christmas answers the pressing questions of human hearts, we're taking a closer look at Hebrews chapter 2 with Christy Thornton. In this episode, listen to Christy and Elizabeth discuss how the Christmas story gives God’s resounding “You matter to me!” You matter so much that the Son of God became human because you are human.
This will be our last episode of 2024 while we take our Christmas break! We'll see you in the new year on January 6.

In this episode, Kristen Lowry joins us from Kenya to share practical ways we can help care for orphans we may never meet. Hear tips on how your women's ministry can involve orphan care into your ministry at the local church level, as well as how we can pray for missionaries and their families.

A lot of Christmas devotionals use "celebrate" language, and indeed, we should celebrate all that Christmas means! But singer-songwriter Caroline Cobb is on the podcast today to emphasize the concept of longing—and how we should focus on it just as much as celebration during the Advent season.

Esther is someone we talk about quite a bit in women's ministry spaces, but Kelly Minter is here to give us deeper insight into the book of Esther. She shares what her opinion is on why God's name isn't mentioned, provides context for the famous verse in Esther 4:14, talks about how she approached the theme of reversals in the story, and more! Plus, she shares how Beth Moore, who first wrote an Esther Bible study in 2008, impacted her and how she has been honored to follow in her footsteps as a Bible teacher.

We were drawn to Tracie Miles' new book, God's Got You, because of the topic of embracing new beginnings with courage and confidence and remembering that God never changes. We can all relate to entering a life transition and feeling anxious, whether that transition is to something we’ve looked forward to or something we never saw coming. We loved this conversation with Tracie as she shared encouragement for women entering a time of transition, as well as how we can support our friends entering a new season.

In a political climate where people are often fighting online and in other venues, many people try to stop the fighting by making the claim that Jesus wasn’t political, or at least didn’t have a political agenda in His ministry, and therefore we shouldn’t be political either. Patrick Schreiner, author of Political Gospel: Public Witness in a Politically Crazy World, joins us today to shed some light on this claim. In this episode, hear Patrick's view on how believers can be appropriately political in line with their Christian faith.
