The accompanying novel for Stardive is being released shortly as an ebook.

    In this episode Todd Barton takes us on a musical and literary journey back to 1985 when he worked with Ursula K. Le Guin, famous for the EarthSea novels. Todd Barton created the musical score for Ursula’s fascinating novel, Always Coming Home, which focuses on a people that might have lived a long time ago in Northern California, and the book came with a cassette tape of music, songs and poems for The Kesh co-created by Ursula and Todd. The music for Always Coming was originally created using authentic acoustic instruments and Todd’s Roland Jupiter 8. Unfortunately he sold the Jupiter 8 many years ago, so has re-created the sounds from the track Music of the 8th House using the Buchla Music Easel.

    In this episode we are taken on a melodic. ambient, experimental sonic journey with Martha Plachetka, you might know as Panic Girl) and Anatol Locker (Ambiosonics & Spheric Lounge) who have formed modular synth super-group, Lucid Grain. They’ve just released their debut album, Rise and Fall, where they construct ambient vibes that balance the chaos of continually evolving acoustic worlds. The track they "reconstruct" was created specially for this episode of Synth Stories and combines a wide array of eurorack modules resulting in some breath taking and frankly wonderful sounds.     Kevin Blumenfeld is a respected composer, orchestrator and synthesist who has worked on films for with Hans Zimmer and Harry Gregson-Williams such as Pearl Harbor, Black Hawk Down, The Ring, Tears of the Sun, Matchstick Men, and Shrek 2, and scored many of his own TV and films including The Walking Dead, and In The Vault. In this episode Kevin takes us on a musical journey using the Moog Mother 32 and one of the stand out tracks from In The Vault, Suspects.
