THE HORRORIST [ Freitag Limited ]
FR-pod110 - THE HORRORIST - EBM / COLDWAVE - http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/thehorrorist - [email protected] ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌The Horrorist, Oliver Chesler is one of the best known and loved electronic musicians. Recording since 1989 he and has released over 80 12" singles and 3 full length albums. In 2001 he had a Number 1 hit on the German Dance Charts (DDC) with the song "One Night in NYC" and in 2004 his album "Manic Panic" went to Number 1 on the German Alternative Chart (DAC). The scope of his music catalog is huge and he has recorded for every major label (Universal, Sony, Warner, Koch, etc...) and all the best known techno labels (Tresor, Industrial Strength, Neue Heimat, etc..). The Horrorist has worked with the biggest names in techno including Chris Liebing, Ben Sims, Frank Kvitta, DJ Rush, The Hacker, Marc Acardipane, John Selway, Frankie Bones, Ricardo Villalobos, Haujobb, Radical G and more have all remixed and produced with The Horrorist. His subsequent albums “Attack Decay” (2007) and “Joyless Pleasure” (2011) have been met rave reviews! His new album “Fire Funmania” was released in January 2013. Although dance orientated most of his songs have vocals and usually progress to a crescendo at or near the end. The writer of many music books and NY newspaper columnist of the Village Voice, Simon Reynolds called Oliver Chesler "My favorite contemporary American singer-songwriter.". A wide range of influences from Depeche Mode to Leonard Cohen factor into Chesler's song writing manifesting into a completely original sound. His ability to make song structured music work on the dance floor is a big key to his success. His vocal technique is quite original and unique. He also refuses not to stick in one genre so on any given record expect styles from indie new wave, electro, EBM, techno, to synthpunk. Horrorist productions are known for being produced extremely well with lots of fancy tricks and effects. His music tech know how has led to interviews and endorsements by pro-audio companies such as TC Electronic, D16, Analogue Solutions and Linplug Instruments. In 1997 Oliver Chesler started the hugely respected Things to Come Records. Originally a business decision to take control of his own royalties the label has also given The Horrorist and other TTC label artists freedom to produce the music they like. With a Publishing deal with Strengholt Music group (Netherlands). Oliver Chesler is one of the few artists and label-owners making something new, groundbreaking, and original that gets wider acclaim. "Things To Come does exactly what the name suggests, and that gives the future something to look forward for....." - Frankie Bones The Horrorist is a sensational live act. A mixture of industrial attitude and punk style with synth-techno music. Playing a set that goes from minimal or new wave all the way to hardcore and everything in between, there is something for everyone. But the biggest thing about the Horrorist's sets is the interactivity that comes with having a live performer that a crowd is capable of understanding. The show is comprised of Chesler's in your face vocals, video projection and live drum machine and synth. The Horrorist performs regularly around the world and has played in every major nightclub and for most major event organizations. He's wowed crowds from LA to Malta. Definitely something else, check it out if at all possible!! The Horrorist is one of those unique artists that only come around once in a while. He is a big influence on the electronic music scene and will be for years to come. On May 13, 2011 The Horrorist released his third full length album titled “Joyless Pleasure”. French music photographer Morganistik wrote, "The Horrorist new album “Joyless pleasure”is out today on Things to Come records. Softer and surprisingly romantic but still full of energy and extremely tortured. You can’t put one style tag on the album. In the 1st track “Modern” the voice will make you think of Ian Curtis from Joy Division. “Joyless pleasure” has a high Depeche Mode feel with ultra pure and detailed synths sounds and effects. “Darkling Lullaby”, “Love sick” and “Lovely Sweet” are 3 ovnis in The Horrorist universe as they are not dance tracks. “Hostage” takes us on an electroclash direction and “I stand with you” in pure EBM style with a Nitzer Ebb impression." ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ★ Tracklist : 1 Oldschool '84 - Container 90 2 Strain - Paranoid 3 Sedation - Front Line Assembly 4 Like I Am / Comme Je Suis (Based On The Sling & Samo Edit) - Tara Cross, Unovidual 5 I Hear The Bells (Original Mix) Danton's Voice 6 Trust (The Horrorist remix) - Dead Sound 7 I Want You - The Concrete Beat 8 Mask Maker - Liars 9 Push - The Invincible Spirit 10 Links-rechts - Tragic Error 11 Acid Tracks - Phuture 12 There's a Place for You (The Horrorist remix) - Ethan Fawkes 13 I Wanna Be Your - Dog Dakar & Grinser 14 Lethal Compound (Harmful If Swallowed Remix) - Front Line Assembly 15 Underpass - John Foxx 16 She said destroy (Original Mix) - Terence Fixmer 17 Stahlwerk (EBM Storm) - Volt 18 Vorwärts - Frontal 19 Misiowie Puszyści (Puławy, Dom Chemika '85 Demo) - Siekiera 20 Fat Cow - Nervous Gender ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ Latest record on "12 : THE TRUTH EP http://www.deejay.de/The_Truth_Ep__141087

    D. CARBONE [ Freitag Dots ]

Carbone ' s sound come from the decay of society and evolves finding dub elements, deep drone and glitch sonority creating raw and industrial sounds. Carbone is one of the labelhead of -REPITCH Recordings- alongside Ascion and Shapednoise, and of the new one 3TH records. Carbone worked with Ascion for years and will appear together again with other aliases as the last -Repitch-.║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ★ Tracklist : LIVE ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ★ DOTS "12 Maicidium Ep: Release Date: 30.10.2013 Davide Carbone is an Acid Dark Industrial Techno artist whose latest vinyl EP— put out by Freitag's new Acid Techno focus sublabel on vinyls, Freitag Dots— is a decadent dish served up with acid dub elements, deep drones, industrial influences and found sounds so raw , you can feel them happening beside you. The track titles manifest a gentle mockery of organized religion: 'Each title is a way to jeer at things I think are ridiculous about human society,' says David. 'The title of the EP refers to the malicidium, a practice used by the church in the middle ages for justifying the killing of the enemies of the church by accusing them of witchcraft. We really haven't moved beyond that; those in power are able to change the rules, and most of what we think we know is actually fake.' So what inspires these rich, distorted tracks, deliciously garnished with industrial, sci-fi, and raw 'found' sounds 'I love listening to music that inspires me to do something different. I like to make distorted music because of my influences. Lately more people have been producing clear music, but my view of doing music is to make noise and create damage in the brain with powerful bass that you can feel inside yourself when you're in the club. I don't like to follow trends. I do music to make me feel good when I'm dancing.' Carbone's favourite book is The Art of Noise by Luigi Russolo, a futurist musician and poet, born in 1883: 'In my opinion he was the true forerunner of the music I do now.'

His musical life is extended, starting in industrial bands, moving on to putting on illegal raves as part of the seminal London underground counter cultural movement United Systems, through commercial techno and back into the murky underground of experimental/industrial techno. Always known to be someone working on the fringes, in the shadows, a true underground artist, Voidloss has become a name associated with progression, quality production, high emotion, of euphoria and darkness, with iconic releases on both high profile and underground labels. His own label Singularity Recordings pushes forward and explores the dark and experimental, leading edge of techno. His Live PA`s take people on a deep emotional journey, both for the soul and for dancefloor. And his many releases continue to be a strong force for individuality and dissent amongst a sea of compliance. Voidloss is also a proudly mastering of all Freitag Limited & Dots releases. ___________________________________________________________________________ ★ Playlist: 1. Voidloss - The Winds of Hell 2. MEASURE DIVIDE
FR-pod085 - MEASURE DIVIDE - Exclusive Interview - INDUSTRIAL/TECHNO - http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/measuredivide - [email protected] ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║ Measure Divide (aka Subfractal) is the new project of music producer Fahad Ahmad who is better known to us as one half of techno powerhouse duo Subfractal. After working for more than five years pushing the envelope of Techno under the Subfractal moniker, he decided to start a new platform for his own expression. His commitment to finding new and innovative techniques to produce groundbreaking techno led him to start this project. After hearing the first few productions it comes without a doubt that Measure Divide is his channel to satisfy his thirst for earth shattering deeper, harder and darker techno. The distorted sound design, rumbling low-end and big fluxes of synths are essential to his sound and are showcased in his productions. After hearing the first couple of releases, he was instantly picked up personally by Techno giant Erphun who will be introducing Measure Divide on his label Brood Audio in 2012 to the rest of the world. When asked about the the reason he started this project, he responded, “I have worked for a long time under Subfractal and am satisfied with the way things have gone. Without doubt I am very proud of the accomplishments. With time I wanted to experiment and try out new ways to better express myself. Measure Divide, for me, is that outlet. It’s a personal project of mine which I work on using a different approach, somewhere where I can be free and not stick to the usual structure of music and what the fans of “Subfractal” are expecting. I will of course be working under Subfractal as well at the same time.” With more productions being made in his Toronto studio, expectations are soaring high for the talented artist and 2012 will be the year when all will be unveiled. ___________________________________________________________________________ ★ Playlist : 1. JOHAN NILSSON
FR-pod083 - JOHAN NILSSON - ACID / OLDSCHOOL - http://www.di.fm/techno - [email protected] ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║ After having experienced rave culture in Sweden, Denmark and Germany during the 90s Johan Nilsson felt it was time to be a little more creative with what had become his favorite music. In 1997 Johan started as a DJ in his home town Malmö, Sweden. Pretty soon Johan started to get gigs at underground parties in his hometown and soon tried to get exposure to other areas by spreading his Dj sets on the internet. Around 2000 this led him in contact with Ari Shohat who at the time had recently launched Digitally Imported Radio as a hobby project at his home in New York City. Alongside a couple of other DJs Johan started doing live sets on DI Radio but soon got more and more involved as a channel manager. As DI Radio continued to grow Johan came on board full time around 2005 and have been with DI as a senior program manager ever since. Johan has launched and continue to manage the Techno, Minimal, Progressive, Acid, Oldschool and Hard Dance channels among other things. In the early 2000s Johan’s exposure through DI and his well-received DJ mixes led to gigs far outside his hometown in Sweden. Gig destinations included New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, Cairo, Istanbul, Ankara, Copenhagen, Utrecht, Brisbane and many more. These days Johan is working hard with the continuing development of the DI Radio channels he once launched. Helping big and small artists around the world getting exposure as well as making sure the listener enjoyment is as high as possible for all DI Radio fans. ___________________________________________________________________________ ★ Playlist : 01. 2Junxion - I Want To Believe - AJ REcords 02. YAN COOK
FR-pod079 - YAN COOK (a.k.a. Eigenes Rezept) - INDUSTRIAL TECHNO - http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/yancook - SOON ON TOUR WITH BROOD AUDIO - [email protected] ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║▌ ║▌│█│║▌║││█║ Yan was born in Kiev Ukraine, 1991. At the young age of sixteen he was introduced to electronic music, more specifically Techno and his love for it was instantaneous! In just one year of dabbling around with software synths and teaching himself production he had released his first EP on Beatport. Since then he has worked hard in fine tuning his stone cold, hard Techno sound and establishing his brand. Even though he has worked under a few different aliases as well as other production partners, he finally came to the realization that his musical career is a journey he has to pursue and build on his own. For that reason, in 2011 his global fan base saw the end of the “Eigenes Rezept” moniker and solely began producing as “Yan Cook”. Besides his obvious talent for music production, Yan has completed some education in the culinary arts, hence the name Yan “Cook”! Yan Cook’s Techno is definitely a force to be reckoned with on the dance floor and his signature haunting atmospheres and pounding basslines in his tracks definitely leave a lasting impression with his audience. You can be sure to hear a lot more of Yan Cook in the coming years… ___________________________________________________________________________ - ALL THESE TRACKS PRODUCED BY YAN COOK - ★ Playlist : 01.Yan Cook, Mays - Tool [csGas] 02.Andreas-Tek - Audio Visual (Yan Cook Remix) [Silent Storm] 03.Yan Cook - Rhomb 04.Yan Cook - Up 05.Yan Cook, Mays - Repressed [csGas] 06.Measure Divide - MD5 (Yan Cook Remix) [Brood Audio] 07.Yan Cook - X01 [Silent Steps] 08.Yan Cook - Knot [Brood Audio] 09.Yan Cook - Reboot 10.Yan Cook - Fused 11.Yan Cook - Nonsense 12.Yan Cook - Rain
