Midnight Soul & Dj Chad Clubb : House Music : Deep, Soulful, Tech, etc.
Here is a three hour set I recorded for the trip to Further Future, a three day event held outside of Las Vegas by the Robot Heart crew. The event was outstanding in so many ways… music, vibe, food, people, etc. Big love to all the new and old friends that got to share the experience of Future Future. We’ll be back next year! All that aside, this mix is a journey through deep and soulful house.
Enjoy.

My hiatus from house music has come to an end! I’m back in full force and plan to start recording and playing out on a regular basis. As part of this resurgence I’ve been listening to a lot new music as well as some of my old mixes that never got released. Over the next few weeks and months you’ll hear a bunch of new and old sounds.
And to kick it off… Here is a soul, funk and disco mix from 2011.
Enjoy.

Another incredible year at Burning Man is on the books. For me, 2012 was a year of musical inspiration. This set is the product of the music coming out of Distrikt and Robot Heart. Deep, techy house! And here’s a little taste to take you there.
Enjoy.

In all my years of djing I never thought I’d start a mix with Bobby Brown’s Don’t Be Cruel followed by Bananarama’s Cruel Summer — the musical universe works in strange and mysterious ways.
This 118 bpm deep house set contains tracks that toe the line between Indie Dance and Deep House. Have a listen and let me know what you think. Personally, I love this sound and plan to share a lot more of it in the future.
Enjoy.

This set was created for our close friend Amber who’s love and support has been immeasurable over the past few months. Thank you Amber!!!
The set has a lot of soulful tech house with vocals and bangin’ baselines. There’s also a very special techno track that’s been waiting to get out since 2003.
Enjoy.

This is part 2 of three-and-a-half-hour set recorded live at the Clubb House on June 5th, 2010. The entire set was recording while chilling with a few close friends — Bill Herrmann, Nikki, The Honger, Dr. Byun, Norris, and of course the amazing T‑Bunny.
For those interested, the second half of the set is on the darker side of soul.
Enjoy.

This is part 1 of a three-and-half-hour set recorded live at the Clubb House on June 5th, 2010. It kicks off with a mixture of old and new school soulful house tracks like ‘Music & Wine’ and ‘Girls Are Evil’. Then builds up to some rockin’ gospel house before transitioning to an underground house sound perfected by the likes of Quentin Harris, Mr. V, Dennis Ferrer, and Ralf Gum. Be sure to listen for track 14, it’s a sick remix of the 2000 anthem titled ‘Bad Habit’ by ATFC and OnePhatDeva. The original track has been injected with new life by the Spanish producer, Uner.
Enjoy.

This set was recorded in 2009 but sat in the car for almost a year before making it’s way to the masses. It starts off with a few mellow house tracks and segues in to a nice groove. The last two tracks are a couple of old school anthems that must be played from time to time.
Enjoy.

On May 24, 2009 a bunch of friends rallied the NINJA disco bus from San Francisco to Shoreline Amphitheatre to see Janes Addiction and Nine Inch Nails – a nationwide tour so eloquently dubbed, the NINJA tour (Nine Inch Nails & Janes Addiction). It was an incredible concert that paved the way for a stellar after party. This set was recorded live at the after party and contains a nice collection of house tracks: soulful, funky, and a little tech house to bring it all together. Aside from the fact that I played the same song twice (because Big Mike wasn’t listening) it’s a fine set.
Enjoy.

Burning Man 2009 – what started as a tag team session between myself and Matt Kramer turned in to a 2 hour solo mission at the Rock Bottom camp. Zach Moore (Gough Street Sessions) was kind enough to record the last 45 minutes of my set and post it on his website.
This is a driving house music set and the song selection is a bit disjointed; but hey, it was Saturday afternoon at Burning Man… what do you expect?!
Enjoy.
