In each episode, Patrick Hamilton & Gena Radcliffe unpack all the gory details of horror cinema's least discussed component: the characters. And we're starting with the classic slashers, Friday the 13th & Nightmare On Elm Street! Our mission: to detail each hack, slash & decapitation in the hopes that a victim's untimely end is just the beginning of the jokes we can make about them.
Wanna turn that frown upside down? No? Well, we don’t either. That’s why it's such good news that we caught one of last month’s biggest horror releases to ensure a demon does it for us!! That’s right, this week we’re singing out loud about SMILE 2!! Along the way, we have a non-spoiler section for everyone before we grin and bear the rest of our in-depth coverage. We consider whether we got a Pennywise situation, then we add a Basil Exposition to the mix, and attempt to come up with some kinda name for this creature… a Smilemon? Smeemon? We’d love your help! Plus, we talk table matches, applying gentle pressure, Drew Barrymore horror, terrible managers, the Kyle Gallner Supremacy, the connective tissue between Smile and This Is Spinal Tap, worship at the alter of Naomi Scott, the Jumanji Conundrum, and deliver a very impactful edition of Choose Your Own Deathventure!! Remember something in these trying times: Smile Demon has your back!

Listen up, you primitive screw heads! We’re headed back in time with a Necronomicon under our arm as we talk Pit Crones, boomsticks, and Sam Raimi’s sword-and-slapstick classic, ARMY OF DARKNESS! Along the way, we talk comedy traffic school, Bruce Campbell: Handsome Idiot, more tales from the desk of Dino de Laurentis, the dire state of 2010s parody films, and genuinely terrible TikTok comments. All this, plus the Charlie Brown Had Hoes-ification of discourse, Star Trek locations, and a very skeleton-based version of Choose Your Own Deathventure!! Give us some sugar, baby and tune in today!!

How much Lot is a lot, and how much Lot equals a whole ‘lotta nothin’? That’s just one of the cursed questions we ask ourselves as we move back into town to talk about the 45th anniversary of CBS’ ’SALEM’S LOT!! And we’re not afraid to ask the big questions! Why is James Mason so nervous? Who taught David Soul’s Ben Mears to type like a caveman? How does this adaptation connect to cults and beating back inflation? Why does this TV mini-series demonstrate the cinematic vision of Tobe Hooper? How old is this middle school kid supposed to be? How many werewolf-killing canes does one store need onsite? All this, plus 70s horror charm, bad toupees, red silk boxer shopping advice, and so much more!!

If unrelenting fear is your idea of fun…
If you have a need to be terrified…
If your favorite dreams are nightmares…
Then this is the Kill By Kill episode you’ve always dreamed of…
Buy a ticket, grab your seat, and get ready to get terrified!! That’s right, we’re talking about the ultimate horror clip show - sorry. The ultimate terror film clip show for its 40th anniversary, TERROR IN THE AISLES!! And here to chat us up in our theater seats is writer, comedian, and Returning Champion Kevin Maher!! Along the way, we play the Newlywed Game, melt at the sight of Nancy Allen, pine for Death Wish 3’s The Giggler, explore Three’s Company jump scares, doubt the drug-running capabilities in Midnight Express, and point out every single weird audience-performer we can in our running time! All this, plus we marvel at Donald Pleasence’s crowd work, debate the limits of spoilers, and, of course, the main reason anyone would listen to this episode: NIGHTHAWKS!!

The Lot is many things. A small town full of secrets. A place where evil can fester. And it’s a Stephen King property that has a few swings at the bat. Well, this week on Kill By Kill, we’re the ones swinging the bat! That’s right, we hate to do it, but we’re driving a stake right through the heart of this 2022… wait, 2023… hold on… 2024 remake of ‘SALEM’S LOT - and we’re not happy about it at all. Why does this movie feel like a speed run? Why does it refuse to show more than six people at a time? Why does Barlow look like the Space Vampire from that episode of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century? Folks, we’re doing everything in our power not to be “those fans,” but this motion picture keeps dragging us back in. Remember how we raged at the 2011 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street? Well, it’s happening again. Make sure to listen til the end to hear about a couple of things we actually appreciate about the film and explain our many, many disappointments. We go in-depth with Uncle Steve’s original novel and try to parse exactly what went so terribly wrong with this new version. It’s a real journey. Don’t worry, we’re back to our chipper, fun lovin’ selves next week.

Have you ever dreamt of a better version of this podcast? We did, so we injected our format with Cronenberg’s The Fly, Street Trash, Re-animator, and… 2001: A Space Odyssey? That’s right - we’re ready to pump it up for the body horror flick of 2024: Coralie Fargeat’s audacious film, THE SUBSTANCE!! Along the way, we start spoiler-free before giving birth to a conversation covering an avalanche of butts, Hollywood Walk of Fame orientation, severe trypanophobia, Sudden Oatmeal Syndrome, and rank the worst men in this movie from worst to F That Guy!! All this, plus we worship at the alter of Demi Moore, describe all our very physical reactions to this film, and burst into a highly explosive edition of Choose Your Own Deathventure!! No matter what happens after you download this episode, remember that We Are One!!

In the Year of Darkness, 2024 - one podcast will be sent back to the past to discuss “ice cream scooping” waitresses to save humanity!! That’s right, pluck out those eyeballs and put in your earbuds as we open up shop on the James Cameron classic, THE TERMINATOR, for its 40th anniversary!! It’s a movie that’s probably been talked about by more people than any other film we’ve discussed on the show. Yet, so many mysteries remain, such as the source of Tech Noir’s citywide success and why Cyberdyne thought a robot with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s body type would fit in amongst starving human scavengers in the post-apocalypse? And those are hardly the only questions we’re asking here: what is the deal with Cameron’s obsession with extraneous limbs during sex scenes? At what point does the T-800 begin to stink so badly? Is this film the best representation of Bob’s Big Boy on film? All this, plus we wonder if “Dagwooding it” post-sex is something we can stomach, and we dine out on a jam-packed edition of Choose Your Deathventure!! The future may be unwritten, but don’t let this episode go undownloaded!!

Distracted at school? Lashing out at home? The solution to your teen’s problems is just a ferry ride away in Cradle Bay, where one unregulated doctor and a gang of Blue Ribbons are standing by to shove a white-hot microchip into your eyeball!! That’s right, we’re talking X-Files grunge, Tarantino monologues, and 1998’s DISTURBING BEHAVIOR with writer and “This Ends At Prom” podcast co-host Harmony Colangelo!! Along the way, we delve into the tug-of-war between what the film wants to say and what the movie actually says about teen angst and rebellion, the competing sci-fi teen scream flicks of 1998, discuss why parents just don’t understand, and why no one considered an intolerance to horny thoughts to a be a behavior-modification dealbreaker during R&D!! Listen today… it’s RAZOR!!

You were warned. You are doomed. You are in for a Friday the 13th treat!! That’s right, we’re celebrating the luckiest of unlucky days with something we’ve never tried before: a theatrical poster draft of the entire Friday the 13th franchise with two overly qualified guests - from the Screen Drafts podcast, it’s Returning Champion Clay Keller; and in his KBK debut, actor/director/horror legend Graham Skipper!! Join us as we debate and rank from worst to first the artwork that defined the franchise’s 12 entries and discuss such heated topics as poop worms, poor taglines, Xenomorph whispering, knife reflection nudes, wooden title treatments, and reminding everyone which movie has a sequence filmed in Corey Feldman’s backyard!! Which poster will make it to the top and what will be left? You’ll have to listen to know for yourself!!

Isn’t it time for your favorite horror movie podcast to do something a bit more literary? How about an epistolary novel where every character is 30% more horny than necessary? That’s right, we’re cracking the book on 1992’s BRAM STOKER’S DRACULA to explore every main character in the order in which their blood is tasted!! Along the way, we explore frilled lizard costumes, corset rippers, bad accent work, great romantic chemistry, personal bug-eating problems, blood-sucking tech bros, and how Count Dracula makes people act like Lenny and Squiggy!! All this, plus self-serve blood crosses, the legacy of Jonathan Harker, total goober, and destiny awaits for a new edition of Choose Your Own Deathventure!! This episode has crossed a sea of time for you to download it today!!

Congratulations! You won a prize from the church, and it’s a new episode of Kill By Kill talking about the biggest horror hit of the year so far... LONGLEGS!! That’s right, we’re getting possessed by this hypnotic supernatural banger of a serial killer thriller, and we can’t shut up about it!! We’re digging into all the details, including the movie’s fantastic marketing push, the Devil’s delivery service, worship at the alter of Osgood Perkins, the truth about “Charlie Brown’s hos,” dig into the performance of one Nicolas Cage, consider random Dark Tower talk, and we celebrate the movie’s fantastic microfiche sequence!! All this, plus pick out some favorite horror references within the film, talk about the world’s worst basement-based roommate, and remotely connect to an all-new edition of Choose Your Own Deathventure!! Download it now, and it can be nice. But also you can download it once, twice… anytime that you like!!!
