It’s insane that it took 64 years to get the first issue of Amazing Spider-Man that’s both written by a woman and legitimately good. That’s in no way the fault of women.
Mark and Dan discuss Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 6) #63. This issue was written by Justina Ireland. The cover features artwork by Ed McGuinness and Marcio Menyz. The interior pages feature artwork by Gleb Melnikov, colors by Marcio Menyz, and, of course, letters by VC’s Joe Caramagna. This issue was first released on December 11th, 2024, although it is important to note that shops were hit with more delays by Diamond, and so many received their books late.

“Clones… why’d it have to be clones?”
On this week’s episode of the Amazing Spider-Talk, Dan and Mark are joined by writer Todd Dezago, who started his career at Marvel working under JM DeMatteis on the X-Factor books before following him and Tom DeFalco into the Spider-Office during the middle of the “Clone Saga.” There, he wrote on The Spectacular Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man, Amazing Spider-Man, and helped to kick off “Maximum Clonage” and the rebooted titles under the “Scarlet Spider” banner. But, his most championed work, at least amongst 90s Spider-Man fans, is the underread Sensational Spider-Man, where he worked alongside the legendary artist Mike Wieringo to tell his own ongoing story of our favorite webspinner. Since then, he has been the lead writer on titles like Marvel Age: Spider-Man and Marvel Age: Spider-Man Team-Up and even contributed a story to Amazing Spider-Man #663.
