Object source lighting is considered an advanced technique that many painters aspire to master, but there are some simple methods of pulling of a good OSL effect at an “army standard” level without spending hours upon hours blending and glazing.
In this video I cover the basics of OSL, how to work out which areas would be affected by the light source, and a quick way of pulling of a great looking effect.

Painting fire is a useful skill which can be applied to all sorts of miniature painting applications, from braziers and brands, burning buildings or flaming sword, and even magical flaming spell effects.
