A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has stopped by the blog or listened to an episode of Quilts ‘n Kids in 2010.  It turns out that 2010 was more Kids than it was Quilts (but I would not change a thing – well some of it I would). 

I hope to get back on the blogging/podcasting horse very soon.  In the meantime, share your pictures and ideas with me and let me know how you have been.  Did you get anything fun for Christmas we can all drool over and wish we had received?  Or did you receive something and feel you need to make a PSA to warn others from purchasing this item?  I did receive some fun things I want to share with you, but my birthday is next weekend and I expect to get a little more quilty goodies.  After that, I can share everything with you at once.

Thanks to Lisa at A Stitch of Faith for letting me know that it is okay not to edit my podcasts.

I got creative this weekend and pulled out the Hexagon die for the AccuQuilt GO!  Each die comes with a pattern inside and I decided to make the table topper for that die.  I had never worked with Y seams before Saturday.  At first, I decided Y seams were a B****.  But after a while, I quit fighting the fabric and let it speak to me and figured out how to do it.  I can’t take all of the credit though.  Something in the back of my mind kept thinking Kaye Woods or Eleanor Burns.  As I recall, I watched one of them tell me how to sew a Y seam.  It had something to do with folding the fabric in, so I just did it.  I think it all laid pretty flat.  Take a look and let me know what you think.  I know the fabric choices are questionable, but they were available in my stash and reminded me of spring.

I received the Martelli Rotary Cutter for Christmas.  I really like it.  It took a couple of tries to get used to, but I like it!

Check out this awesome Ginger Garlic Beef recipe.  Note:  The recipe calls for beef broth, but does not tell the user when to add it.  Once I mixed it with the soy sauce mixture and once I mixed it in with the vegetables.  It worked great both ways.  If you try it, let me know what you think.

I’m back. I am so sorry to have been such a terrible friend for so long. How rude of me to have not checked in with everyone earlier. But don’t doubt my fondness for you for a minute, because you were always on my mind. Life just happened to get in the way and really slowed down my quilting, blogging, podcasting, etc.

Also I am sorry for the terrible show notes this time, but I cannot remember what I talked about the other day. I think the summary of the podcast is that I am now a stay at home mom (SAHM). It’s been fun and I love spending more time with my babies and I actually have time to focus on hubby. Sadly, there has been even less time for my other love, quilting. I am trying to be creative with things to do with Jadyn during the day and with Dylan after school. SAHMs please feel free to send me any thoughts you have for entertaining kids.

I did create my own pattern for the GO! and instructed a class on that one.

I made 6 totes for the kids teachers for Christmas and did not take a single picture of any of them. However, giving them away has resulted in interest and people want to place orders. Yea!!!

My brother in law gave us Kindle’s for Christmas. The books I have read since Christmas are:

I have downloaded quite a few more free books that I cannot wait to read. I enjoyed all of the above mentioned.

Memory Quilt from baby shower - Final pictures to come soon!!!!

The triplets quilts are finished!!!  Well, the binding is on but I haven’t stuck a label on them yet.  The babies go in for their four month check up next week – so I still have 8 months to get the label on and get them mailed.  Don’t judge me. HA HA

For Maddyn - This was the first quilt I ever cut out with the AccuQuilt GO system. See the points - darn near perfect. I had it cut out in under 10 minutes!!!

Pictures of my leaders being placed on the frame system.  Hopefully, the pictures will help aid with the descriptions.  But please disregard the wrinkles.  I was just laying this out for demonstration purposes after pulling it out of a bag.  Also, I am not sure if you can tell, but this is the Scooby Doo quilt – which still is not finished.  It was just too easy to unzip the leaders and put a new quilt on the frame!  BTW, I tried Velcro for the leaders and it is soooo much better than the zippers.  Also, less expensive!  Try it – you’ll love it!
