This course is designed as an introduction to archaeology as a method of exploring ancient cultures, including the tools, ethics, and history of the discipline; this includes: the history of classical archaeology, chronology, dating systems, and analytical methods of all aspects of material culture of the Mediterranean basin including urban planning, construction techniques, religious and secular artifacts and activities, and domestic and civil architecture.
