Kate talks about planning for your special needs children when you as a parent no longer can. Kate has two special needs kids, one is autistic, and Kate discusses how she planned so when she and her husband could no longer care for her daughter, someone else will, for life.
This is my letter I've written to be read out to my daughter when I die. It's particularly difficulat because she is autistic. I hope it inspires others to write for their children too. Kate
In this last installment of my book introduction, The Surrogate Parent Plan, a book to assist parents of disabled children who need long term care, to plan for their child's future after they are gone. Sad, but inevitable. Next podcast I read out my letter to my daughter I have written to be read to her when I'm gone... It's called Dear Rosie...
In this podcast I follow on from last week's podcast when i started to read out my introduction of my Surrogate Parent Plan. Things like my inspiration for writing the book, like murder/suicides, other families who have gone public with their plights and a local fundraiser Young Care. All these things combined, with my normal socialogical factors lead to me writing this book, and I share some of those inspirations in this introduction. I also do a quick Q&A of The Surrogate Parent Plan. Don't forget to leave a review on iTunes or my blog www.TheSurrogateParent.blogspot.com - thanks, Kate
In this podcast show I outline my table of contents (TOC) of my book The Surrogate Parent Plan (TSPP) and then I read out a third of my introduction in my book. It's quite long, so I'll break that introduction up into 3 podcast shows so as not to put you all to sleep to quicly! In this introduction I read out I cover my Government research on estate planning for disabled adult children's care, I also discuss the grim outlook of inadequate support or motivational tools like this book.

In this podcast show I discuss the long term care options for our special needs kids, when we aren't around anymore.Â
The thought of having my daughter in a hostel when I'm no longer able to care for her, is too much to bear, so I now discuss in this podcast show why I wrote The Surrogate Parent Plan, and how it can help you too.
