Calling is about purpose not provision

Sunday Service: God created us to pursue our calling, not to focus on meeting our own needs. Originally, God provided for us, freeing us to pursue our calling. After sin, mankind shifted to working for provision as a result of the curse. Jesus came to restore us to God’s original design, where we focus on our calling while trusting God to provide. Provision instructions address our temporary needs, but our calling solves a specific problem for the benefit of others and makes a difference in people's lives and communities.

    Encouraging Monthly Discipleship Meetings

Hey, CFE family! In this week's ministry update, I want to focus on the importance of monthly discipleship meetings.

I encourage every member of CFE to join a discipleship group that meets at least once a month in their local area. These groups don’t have to be large—three to five people is enough. The goal is to gather with fellow believers in your community to study the Word and fellowship together.

This practice reflects how the early church grew and matured spiritually. Their growth wasn’t dependent on large Sunday services with thousands in attendance. Instead, they met regularly in small groups, studying the Word, praying, and building each other up through close fellowship.

This year, I encourage all of us, myself included, to prioritize meeting with local believers at least once a month. These gatherings don’t need to be complicated. They can take place in someone’s home, at a coffee shop, or anywhere you can connect, open the Word, and fellowship together.

To support this effort, I will host discipleship training on Friday for those interested in leading these groups. My goal is to provide leaders with the tools they need, including content and practical guidance, to facilitate meaningful discussions.

I am passionate about this initiative because I believe close fellowship is vital for spiritual growth. Ministry is more than attending services—it’s about fostering real, personal connections in your local community.

While CFE is a global ministry with many digital offerings, God has placed it on my heart to emphasize that we are not just a digital ministry. We are a ministry with both digital and physical components, and one key physical component is gathering monthly for discipleship meetings.

    Should Christians Attend Church

Daily Study: There is a battle in the body of Christ that is occurring over the question, “Should Christians attend church?” Research shows that each year 3 million Christians stop attending their church, and only 15% of Americans attend a local church. Given that people are leaving church by the millions, let's address this issue by examining the scriptures to bring light to the question of church attendance.

    Grace, faith, and living holy

Daily Study: Various bible teachers and pastors preach on the topics of grace, faith, and living holy. Most times you hear these topics in isolation, and depending on who you listen to, it can appear these topics contradict each other. For example, if we are living under grace, do we have to follow God’s law to live holy? If we don’t live holy, do we fall out of grace? Or how do faith and grace work together to receive the promises of God? In today’s study, discover how these three pivotal bible truths work together for our success.

How to handle gotcha questions about your faith

Daily Study: Today’s culture is increasingly hostile toward believers in Christ. Because of this, some people are on a mission to harm you economically by asking “gotcha” questions about your faith. For example, you might be asked about homosexuality, transgenderism, abortion, or other controversial topics. If your answer goes against the culture’s viewpoint, they may attempt to ostracize you, get you fired, or pressure other businesses to stop working with you. In today's study, let’s learn how to handle these gotcha questions.

You are not an old sinner saved by grace

Daily Study: Have you ever heard the saying, “I am just an old sinner saved by grace?” This may sound holy, but it doesn’t correctly describe your identity in Christ. You cannot be both a sinner and saved. Listen to today’s study to discover your true identity in Christ, so you can come boldly to God as a son or daughter and receive your inheritance of success in this life and the next.

Categorize your Calling to Understand it Clearer

Sunday Service: To better clarify your calling, it is very helpful to categorize it as a business that makes profits, a good-works organization that serves communities, or a ministry that equips believers. Note, most of us have only one calling.

The Bible teaches principles not blueprints

Daily Study: There is a misconception among some believers about the purpose of the Bible. They study it in hopes of finding God’s specific plan for their lives but become disappointed when they can’t find it. The reason is that God designed the Bible to teach us spiritual principles, not to provide an exact blueprint for our lives and calling. However, if we learn the principles, then, with help from the Holy Spirit, we can discover our own blueprint.
