Queen and J. are two funny womanist race nerds from the Bronx talking liberation, politics and pop culture over tea! Dismantling white supremacist patriarchal capitalism one episode at a time. New episode drops every Tuesday! Drink up!
In this episode, we dig into why voting or not voting feels different when it’s happening during a genocide. We got a list of questions, What’s behind some of your favorite thinkers' moves during this election season? Could they be closeted voters during this cycle? And how does the need to be liked show up in liberation work? If you’re a Black feminist, womanist, radical, or just here for the liberation convo, this is for you. We don’t spend much time on Trump (or, as we call him, “the demon”)—our lives are bigger than what white men try to do. But we do get into the big names: Mayor Eric Adams (aka NYC’s chief rat), VP Kamala Harris’ biracial identity, Obama, and his cousin Pookie.

On episode #309 . . . So, it’s been a long ass minute, but we’re back, well kinda. . . we explain it all in this episode. Still, the womanist race nerds you love, figuring out life in this white supremacist cesspool of a planet. We get into where we have been, how we have been, what kept us away, and what rest means 3 years into a global pandemic. We also dip into an old review we did of the Max documentary Tina vs. her 1993 biopic. The Queen of Rock n Roll passing was heavy, so going back to our discussion of Tina Turner’s life as a Black woman in entertainment, feels good.

On this episode… Being twice as good is fvcking exhausting! We lean into Black mediocrity and the freedom to show your ass at work (metaphorically!). We celebrate the joys of sex toys and cannabis. Explore the state-sanctioned mistreatment of Haitian migrants and what’s happening on the Mexican side of the border. Then troll baiting, and J. finds a reason to talk about Blues Clues because that shit was delightful!
Queen & J. are two womanist race nerds dismantling white supremacist patriarchal capitalism one episode at a time. Drink up!
This week’s hot list: R. Kelly is finally going to jail, but we want restorative street justice. Affirming rest, abundance and stability. What our parents taught us about working while Black, addressing microaggressions, and the perfect work turn up. #BluesClues25, Michael K. Williams, and does 50 cent have a soul, or friends?
