Two men discuss a British period drama for your entertainment. Hosted by Stephen Prescott and Ewan Anderson.
Still somber from the events of last week’s episode, we do our best to muddle through and find some good in the goings on at Downton.
It’s party time at Downton and the house is visted by various guests who, as can be expected, are having serious effects upstairs and down. Your two hosts found the events of this episode incredibly frustrating so much so that one has almost given up on Downton forever.
As the loss of Cousin Matthew still effects the inhabitants of Downton both upstairs and down, Bates isn’t acting like himself, Thomas is acting exactly like himself and The Dowager Countess gets all up in everybody’s business more than she usually does.
Downton returns!
Edith and Count Creepy are getting married but everyone is too busy playing detective with the various goings on of the house both upstairs and down to really care much at all. Except for Matthew who makes a very nice gesture to not steal Edith’s thunder when he finds out some good news about Mr. Swire and his money. Anna is till on the case trying to absolve Mr. Bates. Mr. Carson finds out about Mrs. Hughes. Mrs. Hughes finds out about the lump in her breast and Thomas and O’Brien are oficiallay at war. So much going on in this episode leading up to Edith’s wedding and I think we will surprise you with our reaction to just how that all goes down.
Cousing Matthew and Lady Mary (and Anna) have returned from their honeymoon. Mrs. Levinson is still hanging out at Downton and since Matthew won’t cough up Mr. Swire’s money Lady Mary and Lady Crawley decide it’s time to mine for the Levinson gold (so close!). Downstairs, Alfred is getting on with Mrs. Levinson’s ladymaid but not so well with Thomas. O’Brien decides to take care of her nephew with some retaliation and it all ends up causing Lord Grantham and Cousin Matthew to be forced to dress in black tie for dinner. Just when things seem that they can not get worse the oven breaks down! How will they ever save dinner?!
Downton Abbey is back! Ewan’s hopes of ever being a footman are dashed as we jump in to the Abbey just days before the big wedding of Lady Mary and Cousin Matthew. What will happen when Lady Sybil brings her ex-chauffer husband home for the ceremony? How is Mr. Bates holding up in prison? Whatever will Carson do now that he as no footmen to assist with dinner. All this and more awaits in the very first episode of our podcast!
