Join The Freaks as they blab over their favorite movies! Fire up your DVD player and watch along!
Join Chris Tyler and Chris Honeywell as they kick off their series of Quentin Tarantino movies at the beginning with True Romance! All the DNA of QT movies is here right from the start! Great acting, dialogue, Mexican standoffs – all the things we’ve grown to know and love! Sit back, relax and take a trip from slushy Detroit to sunny LA with a briefcase full of drugs and a purple convertable!
Welcome to a SPECIAL LIVE EPISODE! Join Thomas Dejas, Sean Foster and Dario Gonzalez as they MAKES CHRIS HONEYWELL WATCH A WESTERN! Chris gets Sam Peckinpah’s classic THE WILD BUNCH wiped off his list of shame! Recorded live in GARAGE #9 in Kew Gardens, Queens on day 3 of FREAKFEST 2019!!
Did you think you’d heard the last of The Freaks’ talking through your favorite movies? Well – LET’S PRETEND YOU DID! THEY’RE BACK! Due to a scheduling error delaying Earning My Ears, Chris Honeywell and Scott Gardner return to the commentary arena with everyone’s favorite (to rag on) Star Trek – The Next Generation Movie – INSURRECTION. The Freaks argue that this movie has been dissed for TOO LONG and plan to set the record straight! “Yeah, yeah”, you say, “they’re back with ONE MEASELEY commentary!” (Note: Scott and Chris are vaccinated for Measels) Well stick around to the end to find out EXACTLY HOW WRONG YOU ARE!
Join Scott Gardner and Chris Honeywell as they comment their way through a NEW COMMENTARY – THE 80’s CLASSIC – TOP GUN!!!This is a movie starring TOM CRUISE and JOHNNY DEPP or someone. It is about a GUN that is the GREATEST GUN EVER and there is fighting over it and something like that. Does anybody even read these show notes? Am I just wasting my time? AM I? TELL ME!!!!!!! Am I just jabbering to MYSELF, AGAIN?
It’s the LAST GASP of Guest Editor’s Month! Join Paul “The Producer” Spataro, Dr. Bill Robinson, Dave Atteberry and Chris “Hair Metal Hero” Tyler as they go out with a FULL-BLOWN ARNIE-THON!! In STARK CONTRAST to the unscripted, unresearched commentaries of Gardner and Honeywell, this commentary is a structured, acedemic analysis of this oscar winning masterpiece. Honest. Not a SINGLE Arnie impression. Nope. Not ONE. Heads are gonna roll when the bosses get back!
In anticipation of the new Godzilla movie, Scott Gardner and Chris Honeywell take a step back to the LAST American version of Godzilla that swapped a guy in a rubber suit for CGI and Raymond Burr for Ferris Bueller. Scott has a SPECIAL MESSAGE for the listeners and Chris makes an argument for the movie being a romantic comedy. Plus the reprise of a Dr. Bill Robinson penned golden oldie! REMEMBER – YOU BASTARDS CREATED THIS MONSTER!
LAAAAAA! Guest commentators Paul Spataro and Bill Robinson, the DEULING ARNOLDS, tackle the 80’s titan – PREDATOR! There’s really nothing more to say than DiManzicorp STRONGLY advises against playing the debilitating and often fatal PREDATOR CHOPPER/HOPPER DRINKING GAME – where you drink when you hear the word “chopper” or the name “Hopper” -OR see a chopper – or Hopper. DON’T DO IT!
Join Chris Honeywell as he takes the solo reigns for a commentary on Hack Snyder’s THE MAN OF STEEL. Chris does the UNTHINKABLE – analyzes the film with script, character, motivation, cinematography and subtext in mind – IN THE CONTEXT OF THE MOVIE. Instead of judging the movie on what the characters SHOULD be like, or SHOULD or SHOULDN’T do, he more or less tries to judge it by whether who they are and what they do MAKES SENSE. At least as much as a a chemically impaired near-moron can! Does he succeed? TUNE IN, WATCH ALONG AND FIND OUT! UP, UP, AND AWAY!
Join Scott Gardner and Chris Honeywell as they take the opportunity to revisit 2011’s THOR just as it’s sequel – THE DARK WORLD is released! This movie was a big surprise for both Freaks who did not think it would work on the big screen. This is one of those rare time that you will find them happy to be wrong! Much respect is put forth and Natalie Portman is offered a cheesburger or three. So grab a giant turkey leg, a flagon of mead and sit back and prepare to get HAMMERED!
This month the Freaks dig up a neglected Halloween classic! John Badham’s 1979 adaptation of DRACULA starring Frank Langella, Sir Lawrence Olivier and Donald Pleasance. This moody film often seems to get lost in the vast sea of vampire movies, and it’s a shame. With great acting, cinematography and a haunting and majestic score by John Williams, you just can’t go wrong! So smear yourself head to toe with garlic, sit down with your crucifix (but only if you BELIEVE) and your bat-swatter and check it out! In addition to the movie, the Freaks answer letters, receive Dracula and Frankenstein Fotonovels and an embarrassing amount of comic book swag that they have to shout out! LET HALLOWEEN BEGIN!
