Field Recordings by Thijs Geritz

Thijs Geritz

Thijs Geritz is a Dutch animator, illustrator and graphic designer and also an avid field recordist. Some of the recordings are 'binaural', meaning that the method of capture recreates an accurate stereo image of the environment when listened to using headphones. To enjoy this effect, listen to those marked 'Binaural fieldrecording' using headphones.

Playground Fahrenheitstraat (Den Haag, October 7th, 2023)
General atmosphere at the playground on the Fahrenheitstraat in The Hague. Aporee: https://aporee.org/maps/work/?loc=62585 --- Note: Despite the mention that 'this track was mastered,' Soundcloud's mastering option was not used for this track. I did test the option with this track but ultimately did not use the mastered version. Unfortunately, it is not possible to remove the mention afterward. Additionally, the automatic mastering feature is designed for music and is not particularly useful for field recordings.

Plaza de Armas (Cusco, Peru , July 6th, 2018)
You hear, among others, German and American tourists in Cusco. We walk around the Plaza de Armas in Cusco in search of a restaurant. Restaurant staff promote their menus. A passing woman asks if I want a massage. And you probably hear much more than I do if you give it a try. Aporee: https://aporee.org/maps/work/?loc=62586
