All About the Mouse is a Disney fan podcast that focuses on Walt Disney World, but also all aspects of the Disney company including: movies, music, and parks worldwide. We feature Disney news, rumors, and information each week as well as a featured topic of discussion along with interviews with Disney insiders, celebrities, and other fans in the community. Listener engagement is welcomed and encouraged with listener-submitted content, Q&A emails read and answered on the show, and much more magic and mayhem!
This week's show is, sadly, the final show of All About the Mouse. We have a nice long show in store for you, though! Paul Barrie from Window to the Magic is joining us again to recap the news items that occurred throughout the Disney company during November and December 2023. Together, we'll recap sad events like the passing of Dick Nunis and exciting news announcements, like the return of Fantasmic! at Disneyland. We'll also talk about World Celebration opening at Epcot, the materialization of the Hat Box Ghost at the Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney World, and a whole lot more! To cap off our final show, Paul will read some messages emailed in by you, the listeners, remembering all of the fun and excitement we've had here at All About the Mouse over the last 16 years!
On this week's show, Bryce Yelverton and Sarah Evans join me again to reveal the winner of Walt Disney World Background Music Madness. I know we begin this bracket-style tournament to find out the #1 piece of music audio in all of Walt Disney World way back in March of 2023, and it has taken us a long time to get to this point. We are finally ready to reveal the winner that you, the listeners, voted for!
Then, we'll revisit our Disney predictions for 2023 to see which ones came true and which ones didn't.
On this week's show, we continue our tradition at All About the Mouse of celebrating Christmas with Christmas audio from the parks. One of the things I love about Christmas is waking up Christmas morning and opening up presents with the family by the tree with Christmas music playing in the background. I've curated this year's audio of Disney music, all from Magic Kingdom, just for that purpose. You can huddle around the tree with your family and enjoy these various pieces of Christmas audio from Magic Kingdom in the background or you can pop on your headphones, close your eyes, and imagine yourself in the park enjoying these special Christmas presentations from Walt Disney World. Either way, I hope you enjoy this week's show and have a very merry Christmas!
Paul Barrie has a special announcement regarding the final episode of All About the Mouse!
On this week's show, I have a major announcement to make at the very top. Then, I'll take you on an in-depth look at the Disney castles from the theme parks around the world. As most of you know, Walt Disney started the legacy of the Disney company's iconic castle logo way back in 1955 when he opened Disneyland with Sleeping Beauty castle placed directly in the main view of guests as they walked into his park. This week, I'll take you a little further into that castle with some stories and fun facts and then we'll visit all of the other castles around the world and talk about their inspirations, the attractions within them, which one is the tallest, and which one almost wasn't even a castle at all.
On this week's show, we're back from a little bit of an unexpected break. Paul Barrie from A Window to the Magic joins me again to recap the news items from around the Disney company that occurred throughout the months of September and October. We'll touch on all of the highlights that were announced at Destination D! We'll also look at some of the highlights from the 100th anniversary celebration of the Walt Disney Company as well as talk about the new limited-time nighttime entertainment offering at Disneyland with a distinct New Orleans flare, the easing of park hopping restrictions in Walt Disney World, the opening of Journey of Water in Epcot, an incident that occurred involving wildlife roaming around Magic Kingdom park, and much more!
On this week's show, I'm very excited to bring back author Dave Bossert to talk about his new upcoming book "Tim Burton's The Nighmare Before Christmas Visual Companion". Thirty years ago, Dave had the distinction of earning a credit on this fan-favorite holiday classic as an effects animator. Years later, he decided to interview Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, Henry Selick, and many other talented individuals who all worked together to take "The Nightmare Before Christmas" from the Christmas poem written by Tim Burton to the classic film it is today. After recording hours of interviews, Dave set out to compile their stories into a single book that would come to be described as the definitive telling of the behind the scenes making of "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas".
On this week's show, we're taking an in-depth look at the 2001 hit Disney Pixar film "Monsters, Inc." starring the voice talents of Billy Crystal and John Goodman. This light-hearted comedy about monsters who scare children in order to collect their screams to power their city Monstropolis, started out years earlier as a discussion topic over lunch between several Pixar filmmakers during the making of Toy Story. This blue sky idea went through multiple iterations before finally settling on the film we know today with James P. Sullivan and Mike Wazowski. It went on to spawn a prequel ("Monsters University"), an animated short, a Disney+ television series, several theme park attractions in Disney parks around the world, and more! Bryce Yelverton joins me for a look at Mosters, Inc!
On this week's show, we are finally getting around to revealing the results of Round 4 of WDW Background Music Madness where our final 4 Walt Disney World background music loops competed against each other for the top spot and you, the listeners, voted for your favorite in each match. Bryce Yelverton and Sara Evans join me again as we announce the winners between the Epcot Entrance loop circa 2016 and Tomorrowland and The Jungle Cruise queue audio and Main Street U.S.A. The results from these matches will reveal our final 2 pieces of Walt Disney World audio that will go head to head against each other for the championship!
Then, later in the show, we will play the each of the 2 final remaining pieces of background audio in their entirety for you to enjoy before you cast your final vote!
On this week's show, we're back with an all new What's News show covering all of the latest happenings from around the Disney company. Paul Barrie from A Window to the Magic joins me to look at the news items that occurred throughout the months of June and July from the theme parks, movies, and more. We'll touch on some of the announcements around Halloween and Christmas events coming to the parks on both coasts, an unfortunate passing of 2 Disney fan favorites, the latest updates from the Tiana's Bayou Adventure re-theming of Splash Mountain and the San Fransokyo addition to Disney California Adventure, a new development with Disney CEO Bob Iger, and even a spoiler-free review of Disney's Haunted Mansion motion picture remake.
On this week's show, we're going to be talking about the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco. Established on October 1, 2009 and founded by Walt Disney's daughter Diane Disney Miller, the 40,000 square foot museum features historical pieces and artifacts that tell the story of Walt Disney, the man, from his ancestral beginnings until his death on December 15, 1966. My good friend Rick from the United States of Geekdom joins me to talk about his recent trip to the Presidio of San Francisco, the site of the Walt Disney Family Museum and some of the highlights for him and his family including the multi-plane camera, early animation drawings, his Oscar for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and much more!
