Every year that I attend Burning Man is completely different from any other year. And so was this one. I arrived Sunday late night in Reno, slept and saw the weather forecast…I decided to see my friend at Lake Tahoe and got a close eye onto the weather forecast and the Burning Man page on X. Rain, road closures, strong winds, gate closures…it just kept on going…. My first gig was planned at 10:30pm at Soundgarden on Wednesday evening so I had some time before I ‘needed’ to be there. Finally Wednesday early morning I packed up all my stuff, last Wholefoods run and off I went. Arriving at the sandy road, right off of the paved road, I immediately noticed many cars getting stuck after slipping and sliding in the mud. All I focused on was to keep on moving with my car because once I was gonna stop, I knew I would have been stuck in the mud like many others around me. I made it to the end of the line cause the gate was (again) closed. But pfew……I did not get stuck and was a little closer to getting in. After being in line for a closed gate for about 5 hours the line started moving again and I was secretly still hoping to be in time for my set at Soundgarden later that evening. Hours passed by but I got closer and closer. Once I was in I drove straight to my camp, parked my car, got changed, jumped on my bike and made my way over to Soundgarden. I arrived at the camp and had just heard about a power outage but the sound was back on, there was music so I headed over to the dj booth and gracefully took over the decks. Welcome to Burning Man. Within 24 hours I played that set, early am at Bubbles and Bass the next morning and after that I played in the magical PlayAlchemist Pyramid Thursday evening for their Gold night. What a special place, what a powerful atmosphere and so much joy and playfulness I saw while playing there. With so many of my friends showing up and so many new faces in front of me and behind me in the booth I enjoyed every second of the musical journey out there. Thanks Berge for showing up a little later than expected so I was able to play a little longer than initially scheduled. That’s also Burning Man. Thank you all for the love and support and the standing ovation! Last weekend I played a birthday party off of the coast of Cartagena on a private island. First of all, I love Colombia. For some reason the people always strike me with their open heart and kindness. It is probably one of my favourite countries in the world. The people and beauty of the country make me feel like home. Secondly, I felt very inspired to create a new podcast after this event. So I buried myself in my studio and the result you’ll find here. I hope you’ll enjoy this new journey. My apologies for not having created a new podcast sooner than now, my calendar has been extremely full with lots of travel but I am glad I dedicated the time to gift you another Deep & Sexy podcast. Hello beautiful people! Please welcome my new creation here! I hope you will like it, I put a lot of effort in this one, probably edited all of the tracks that I used to create that, in my opinion, unique storyline where you feel like you are taken on a journey. I personally always love driving in my car and listen to it while I enjoy the beautiful nature around me. But that’s me. I called it Passion. Why? Because I feel like we need to spark our inner passion more. Sometimes we live our lives too habitual, days and weeks fly by and before we know it it’s already mid November. So I would like to encourage you to sit still, look deep within and ask yourself what lights your inner fire? Whatever it is, please do more of that for the last 1.5 month of this year. Live with (more) passion, cause you will feel more alive and vibrant and people around you will notice that. And don’t we want to be around more vibrant people in our lives? Hello beautiful people! Welcome to Deep & Sexy Podcast #57. Every time I work on a podcast I feel so unbelievably joyful. You cannot imagine what it feels like to create something that I share with all of you. All the joy I have upfront by imagining what you’d think of the tracks, the journey and transitions and how it makes you feel. I truly hope it gives you as much joy as it does to me. It was an absolute pleasure to play there and see so many of my friends show up and of course many others. Burning Man is always a special time, especially this year with some rain and muddy, fun times after and during. Welcome to a new Deep & Sexy journey! This time my theme is ‘peace’. Maybe an obvious one. There is always need for more peace, whether it’s on a global level or on a smaller level. Everywhere we need more peace. Peace between countries is probably the one most needed these days. But don’t forget the peace in classrooms where kids are bullied by others. Not only happens it at schools, it happens at the corporation where you or your neighbor might be working as well. So please look around you and try to show up for people who need it. Also….it doesn’t mind to be more kind. Just be aware of it to try to show up with kindness and compassion. There is a story behind everyone. From the outside we can’t see what’s all going on in the human in front of us or next to us. Enjoy some music now…..hope you’ll be able to enjoy and share it with your friends. One at my beloved Space Cowboys and the second one at the Bridges For Music camp, called Ubuhlanti. Saturday night, a packed venue (yes, I would call it a venue) and an amazing African female artist playing before me, creating a high energy amongst the crowd. My turn….so much fun, so many happy faces, so much love to share. Being at AfrikaBurn is always one of my highlights of the year and this year was definitely not an exception to that. Cause it brings me back into my body whenever I feel a little out of touch with it. Nowadays there are many ‘teachers’ who can help with this. I still do my practise with the good old Wim Hof and recently I discovered another amazing breath coach Finnian Kelly who was able to bring me very deep back into my own body. Thank you Finnian for guiding me there. After a breath session I dove into my catalogue of music and created another podcast for you all. The last few weeks I was able to work on a lot of new releases for the next coming months as well, so keep an eye on my Spotify channel. Being there in the middle of nowhere, no civilization, people building shelter and accommodation for a few days, being there for a few days to a week, break off everything and leaving no trace. In the middle of all that I find myself in such a luxurious position where I can see many of my friends, spend time with them without having the distraction of phones, e-mail etc. Being fully present with the people there and then also being able to share music with them….that to me is such a blessing and I think you can hear that back in my sets. So…..I played another set at Space Cowboys and I felt so much joy, I saw so much pure joy in peoples eyes, body language and the sounds which came out of their mouths ;-) Enjoy the live set I played there with the sound of the audience in it as well.
