Episode 434: Apple Watch, AI, and Stolen iPhones

In an article for Bloomberg, Mark Gurman makes the case for an Apple Watch reboot. He's certainly not wrong, the Apple Watch has been stagnant for years now. Some keen people have found a new URL in the updated code pointing to a new subdomain genai.apple.com. Nothing happens when you click on it, but I'm sure after WWDC, we'll get to see exactly what it's for. People have been stealing iPhones since they first came out, but in London, the thieves are also starting to text threats to family members.

Episode 431: Swap Apple Intelligence Models, Apple advertising on Apple Maps

Perhaps one of the best Apple Intelligence decisions I've ever heard, the company announced this week that users will be able to swap Apple's AI model to a rival's to control the new AI system. That means you could use Claude or Gemini or another company that wants to have theirs available. Dave and I also talk about Apple's decision to show advertising on Maps. A disappointing choice for a company that ridiculed Google for its advertising efforts to customers and saying Apple doesn't treat its customers like the product.

Episode 427: MacBook Neo dilemma, foldable iPhone, Apple Stores

Apple's MacBook Neo is selling much better than the company thought, which has caused a delimena it must now work through. IT would seem from the rumors that the foldable iPhone is a thing, but what should Apple name such a product? The Apple Stores are not the experience they used to be and Apple is closing a few of the retail stores.

Apple has finally updated the AirPods Pro Max, but the update didn't bring a lot of new features, it basically brought the headphones on pair with the AirPods Pro. Dave and I talk about AI and whether Apple chose to stay out of the spending spree or if it was caught unprepared for one of the biggest tech changes in a long time. Do you know what could be in the figs you love to eat? Me neither, but Dave tells us.
