7 August 2026, 12:00 pm - 1 hour 17 minutesThe Divorce of Lady X (Episode 238) - Hot Date with Dan and Vicky
Merle Oberon, star of 1938's The Divorce of Lady X, had been involved in a car accident before shooting that left her face scarred. The comedy with co-star Laurence Olivier was partially filmed in color to cover up and mask the recent plastic surgery she'd undergone. The film was also a bit of a departure for Oberon who was known mostly for dramatic roles (The Dark Angel, The Private Life of Henry VIII and Wuthering Heights). The Divorce of Lady X also has scene stealing turns from Ralph Richardson, Binnie Barnes and Morton Selten.
Dan and Vicky discuss the classic British comedy along with a lot of recently seen like Leviticus, Disclosure Day, Moana, Queens of the Dead, Supergirl and The Invite.

2006's Crank was the directorial debut of co-directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Tayloer and their approach was incredibly hands on. One of the first film to shoot completely on digital cameras, the directors themselves manned the cameras and achieved the film's frenetic style by shooting on roller blades. Star Jason Statham got into the spirit as well by doing all his own stunts.

19 June 2026, 12:00 pm - 1 hour 20 minutesState Fair (Episode 235) - Hot Date with Dan and Vicky
1962's State Fair marked the third screen adapatation of the novel by Phil Stong. As in 1945, this one was a musical but a big, colorful, expansive musical that Hollywood was so good at in the 1960's. Starring heartthrobs Pat Boone, Bobby Darin and Ann-Margret, it's the story of the Frake family and their ambitions to win big at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas. Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote new music for the film, one of the few musicals written expressly for the big screen, and several plot elements were added or changed to make this version more contemporary. Tom Ewell, Alice Faye (coming out of retirement) and Pamela Tiffin round out the Frake family.
Dan and Vicky discuss the film as well as some recently seen movies like Obsession, Apex, Tuner, Is God Is, and Remarkably Bright Creatures.

8 May 2026, 12:00 pm - 1 hour 17 minutesThe Wicked Lady (Episode 232) - Hot Date with Dan and Vicky
1945's The Wicked Lady directed by Leslie Arliss was an enormous hit for Gainsborough Studios and is still considered one of the most popular and successful British films of all time. The story of an unrepentant social climber, played by Margaret Lockwood, who turns to a life of crime pushed the boundaries or propriety with plentiful veiled references to sex and enough heaving bosoms to make American censors uncomfortable. In fact, the production had to go back and reshoot scenes deemed too revealing to play for American audiences. The film co-stars James Mason, Patricia Roc, Griffith Jones, and Felix Aylmer.
Dan and Vicky discuss the UK classic along with alot of recently seen like Faces of Death (2026), Hunting Matthew Nichols, Peaky Blinders, Alpha, Pretty Lethal and the series Agatha Christie's Seven Dials. You'll also learn about the sex ed film that became 1945's biggest movie and hear both Dan and Vicky have senior moments!

24 April 2026, 12:00 pm - 1 hour 28 minutesProject Hail Mary (Episode 231) - Hot Date with Dan and Vicky
Dan and Vicky head back to the movies! This time it's the recent hit sci-fi comedy drama Project Hail Mary starring Ryan Gosling and Sandra Huller directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller and based on the book by Andy Weir. Lord and Miller insisted that the special effects be all created practically - the most impressive of which is the character of Rocky. The rock creature was puppeted by James Ortiz and his team with Ortiz providing it's voice. Initially Ortiz's voice was meant as a marker until the directors cast another voice actor but they liked Ortiz's take so much, they kept his voice.
Along with that currently playing film, your hosts talk about their recently seen including They Will Kill You, The Bride!, Undertone, Ready or Not 2 and I Swear.

4 April 2026, 12:00 pm - 1 hour 23 minutesThe Driver (Episode 229) - Hot Date with Dan and Vicky
The Driver from 1978 was written and directed by Walter Hill (Hard Times, 48 Hours, The Warriors) as a response to what he saw as coventional genre fare. Hill was after making a film pure in intent and story without the typical Hollywood trappings. Audiences in 1978 were not impressed but the film has since been championed by contemporary filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino and Edgar Wright as an example of adrenaline fueled style over needless substance. The film stars Ryan O'Neal, Isabelle Adjani, Bruce Dern and Ronee Blakley.
Along with this car chase classic, Dan and Vicky discuss recently seen items like Sirat, The Retreat, Solo Mio, K-Pops!, Hoppers and Netlix documentary Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model.
