Australia's #1 podcast for women is where smart women come for good conversation — with an occasional side serve of chaos. Covering news, pop culture and big ideas, plus the small stuff that matters, Mamamia Out Loud is hosted by journalists and authors Mia Freedman, Jessie Stephens and Holly Wainwright. It's your daily dose of conversation that's like catching up with your best, funniest and sharpest friends in the group chat, offering conversation at its most addictive.

It’s Friday, and it’s a news-free zone. Breathe out, friends, and let’s kick off with a splash of skincare nepotism — Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter Apple is sharing how Mum asked all her “Goopy” friends to help fix her teenage acne and honestly, haven’t we all?
Also, iconic magazine editor Anna Wintour just sat down with her successor, Vogue Content Director Chloe Malle, and served up a deeply awkward masterclass in 'Boomer vs. Millennial' work ethic clash. So, who wants to pay everyone 30 per cent more?
Is it ever okay to mention your food intolerance on a first date? What about your ex? What about your mother? And who the hell does pay, in 2026? The New York Times has dropped a new set of 'Dating Rules'. Some are genius, some are unhinged, and yes, we have thoughts.
And finally, we tackle a domestic mystery as old as time: Are you a box-flattener or are you... normal?
Plus, recommendations. Jessie Stephens has a very helpful robot for you. Clare Stephens wants to help you unlock creativity (it's a new year, fire horses) and Holly Wainwright wants to show you her new pants.

Recommendations
Clare recommends The Writer's Studio which offers courses for aspiring writers.
Holly recommends the jersey barrel leg pants from Uniqlo
In a turn of events, Jessie is recommending Chat GPT (we're shocked too) for anybody who needs some design help when moving house.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been arrested in the UK on his 66th birthday on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The former prince is the first senior British royal in modern history to be detained by police.
How did it happen? Why did it happen? And what does King Charles have to say about it?
On this extraordinary day for the Monarchy, we cross to Out Loud Royal Correspondent, Holly Wainwright for an Emergency Meeting.

Outlouders, enjoy this free bite of Mia, Holly and Jessie. Catch the full chaos of Angelina Jolie & The Existential Threat Of Desirable Older Women at 5 pm TODAY. Not a subscriber yet? Honestly, why wait?
She’s back. Angelina Jolie has a new movie out and the gossips think she and her co-star, Louis Garrel might be… you know. The comments section is flooded with young women claiming "ick", and that Ange "could be Louis’ mother." She could not, but okay.
Anyway, Mia Freedman, Holly Wainwright and Jessie Stephens are unpacking why a 50-year-old woman dating a younger man feels like such a personal attack to Gen Z. Is this about scarcity, ageism, prudishness or just good old-fashioned man-eater panic?
Remember, this is your free sample of today's subs episode. The full debrief drops for subscribers at 5pm.

If Barack Obama says there are aliens, then there are aliens. While the former President is busy clarifying that he didn't actually see any ETs in the Oval Office, Jessie Stephens has a theory: Is men’s obsession with outer space just a symptom of not having enough mental load?
Plus, the political "pub test" is officially dead, and the "algorithm test" has moved in and made itself comfortable. We’re looking at why the Internet is both the world’s best fact-checker and its most dangerous bias-confirmer. And Holly Wainwright is asking, what IS the actual pub test in 2026?
And because we clearly haven't done enough critical thinking, we’re wading into the chaos of Married At First Sight. Jessie, of course, is an expert in the field, and she’s bringing several philosophical questions from the new season, starting with: Can you ever come back from a sexual chemistry deficit?
In other business, apparently, humans "fall off a cliff" at age 44, which is sending Amelia Lester into a spiral. Happily, there’s a pick-me-up coming: Hollywood A-listers are signalling that side-parts are back. What’s next? Skinny jeans and ballet flats? Oh.

Outlouders, enjoy this free bite of Mia Freedman, Holly Wainwright & Amelia Lester. Catch the full chaos at 5 pm TODAY. Not a subscriber yet? Honestly, why wait?
Holly loved Wuthering Heights. Amelia hated it. Mia was meh - probably the most batshit of all reactions about the most talked-about movie of the year.
So today we get into it. Mia Freedman asks Amelia why she thinks Margot Robbie was so miscast as Cathy, why she wished Jacob Elordi came with subtitles and why she’d like two hours of her life back, please. And Mia wants Holly to explain why there was a barking woman on a leash, and whether the finger-sniffing scene was, actually, in Emily Bronte’s classic novel.
It’s a no holds barred dissection of the choices made by Emerald Fennell and of course, why Mia walked out of the premiere.

Did Australian politics just take a little topple off a glass cliff, or is the ‘rolling’ of Liberal leader Sussan Ley much more complicated than that? We’ve got the TLDR.
And, Wuthering Heights is everywhere and so is criticism of just what kind of “greatest love story” it is. A very sexy one, or a downright irresponsible one?
Also, looksmaxxing. What is it? Who’s doing it? And why does it have to involve 17 different tablets every morning and a whole lot of money?
Oh, and a little round up of scurrilous gossip for you. What do Celeste Barber, Ada Nicodemou and the Beckham family all have in common? They’re all trying to navigate some big emotional moments via social media. And look, for the Beckhams, it’s not going well…
Listen to Amelia Lester, Holly Wainwright and Jessie Stephens get into all that and other stuff too, on today’s Mamamia Out Loud.

Outlouders, it’s Friday the 13th and the vibes are… chaotic. From Wuthering Heights to Finger Princesses to The Year of the Fire Horse and our weekly reccos, today's show is A LOT.
We’re about to enter the Year of the Fire Horse and apparently it’s all action, freedom and breakthrough energy. Unless you’re a Pig (sorry, Holly Wainwright). Jessie Stephens and Clare Stephens are claiming this as their zodiac Super Bowl, but there’s a tiny historical footnote involving superstition, falling birth rates and the suggestion Fire Horses are “too wild.” Rude.
And, the robots have taken over your child’s class photo. And no, we're not 'just' talking fixing gappy smiles. Add in AI-cheating uni students, 200-written-in-a-year AI romance novels by one author and its controversial use in true crime documentaries and suddenly we’re asking: are we outsourcing our brains? Or just evolving?
Plus: the petty hills we will absolutely die on. Quiet carriages. TEABAG OUT. No, Coke Zero isn’t fine. Yes, you must wave. The list is long and, at times, unhinged.
And finally… are you a Finger Princess? The friend who asks questions she could very easily Google. We fear it’s us.
Welcome to Friday, friends. It's a vibe.

"Three months ago, I made my biggest mistake and cheated on her..." These were the words that a Norwegian biathlete shared in his live press interview, minutes after winning bronze at the Winter Olympics. So why did Sturla Holm Laegreid choose to tell the world he messed up his chance with "the love of his life" and will his grand gesture to get her back work?
Also, the world can't look away from the devastating true-crime story of the apparent abduction of US TV star Savannah Guthrie's mother Nancy. Today, there's been an announcement that a man has been detained after the release of a nightmarish video, but why has this case captured the world's attention and does that spotlight help, or harm, a real-time investigation?
Plus, Lindsay Vonn is a US ski-racer who should possibly never have started the race that just ended her career. So is her story a triumphant one about resilience, or a cautionary one about ego?
And look, Holly Wainwright, Jessie Stephens and Amelia Lester were not going to leave the studio without a dose of scurrilous gossip: The footballer dumped immediately after they lost the Superbowl; why Kendall Jenner needed hand-holding in the Bad Bunny show; Kim and Lewis and, the couple most likely to infuriate their friends are (maybe) back together. Yes, it's JLO and Ben, 2.5.

It’s Super Bowl Day in the US and while we’re not clear on the result, we do know that Kim Kardashian decided it was date night and Bad Bunny is actually one extremely good bunny. So, why did he inspire other musicians to put on a rival halftime show?
In other business, the 'Coldplay kiss cam' woman is telling her side of the story of the night that changed her life, and Jessie Stephens, Clare Stephens and Holly Wainwright ask: What do you do with the kind of infamy that no-one wants?
And, Recipe Tin Eats’ Nagi Maehashi is mourning the loss of her very good boy, the famous Dozer. Have we learned how to say goodbye to pets properly? And what do we do with that very particular grief?
Plus, Melinda Gates and what you owe a truly terrible ex. And Bianca Censori — Kanye West’s wife — has given a long and winding interview about why she’s ready to put clothes on. Why, though?

Mia Freedman is in full-on producer mode at the moment with the launch of her shiny new project Unleashed. Today, however, she’s back in the hosting chair on Mamamia Out Loud as she spills to Jessie Stephens and Em Vernem what this producer gig malarkey is all about. Outlouders, trust us, you’re going to eat this up.
And, do you matter? Are you essential or just... existing? Mia, Jessie, and Em unpack the 'mattering' movement and why it’s taking over from 'let them'.
Plus, hotel bathrooms. Something’s changed, and it’s making us feel most exposed. The hosts dig into this trend and why some things — even with your partner — are better left private.
Also, Valentine’s Day = loneliest day for singles? Em begs to differ. There’s actually a worse one, and she’s explaining why.
Aaaand did we mention that hair tinsel is back? Naturally, Mia is fully here for it. Welcome to the world of disco hair.
