    Shining Force
In this episode of Tiger/Wolf, we're journeying back to the realms of Runefaust on the Sega Genesis, as we discuss the iconic 1992 strategy RPG, Shining Force. Developed by Climax Entertainment and Sonic Team, this game expanded upon the artstyle set by its predecessor, Shining in the Darkness, and later found a new obscure home on the Game Boy Advance (where it was immediately forgotten by most, it seems.) Join us as we explore the tactical battles and its attempts at storytelling. We'll delve into what we like and dislike about Shining Force after playing it again in 2024.

    Inindo: Way of the Ninja
After a long hiatus, we spontaneously return! In this new episode, we blab about one Koei's oddball early-90s releases, "Inindo: Way of the Ninja." "Inindo: Defeat Nobunaga" made its debut on the PC-8801 platform on July 19, 1991, amid Japan's booming gaming scene. Inindo combines historical narratives with mythological yokai and a dash of grand strategy, making it a unique and uneven experience. It offers a unique glimpse into feudal Japan, where this time you play as an Iga ninja whose goal is to assassinate the notorious Oda Nobunaga. Inindo was produced by Kou Shibusawa, a few years before Koei's transition into a publicly-traded company. The unique soundtrack composed by Fiori Wakakuwa of "hyym," is a mixed-bag, but it succeeds in setting the game's feudal Japanese tone. It's a broken game yet we still love it.
