- 39 minutes 44 secondsBILLY WOODS
Today's guest is one of the most distinctive voices in hip hop today. For more than two decades, New York rapper Billy Woods has built a reputation for his vivid storytelling and thoughtful, densely layered political lyricism, which mirror his fiercely independent approach to making music. Following his sensational show at Manning Bar, we're so excited to welcome him to Out of the Box.
This episode was presented to you by Matt Do and produced by Alex Kennedy. Out of the Box is recorded at the fbi station in Redfern, which is on unceded Gadigal Land. We pay our respects to Gadigal elders past and present and recognise the ongoing colonial violence committed across this country. Wherever you’re tuning in from in so-called Sydney, the land always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.

30 July 2026, 5:00 am - 39 minutes 16 secondsEALING
Today’s guest is one i’ve been trying to get on the show for almost a year, seriously, our conversation starts back in November. A DJ and producer who really questions the idea of “genre” by fluently floating between every different form of electronic music you can think of, from IDM, bass, pop, glitch, noise, hip-hop and putting them all on the same record or mix. Technically a Sydney based artist, question mark, for the past year, ealing has been living in Taiwan, performing and making new music. Having only just touched down in Sydney about a week ago, I'm so thrilled to finally have them on the show.

30 July 2026, 4:45 am - 49 minutes 8 secondsSOLLYY
Making his grand return on Out of the Box, we have the ironclad king of Western Sydney, it’s SOLLYY! Since he was on last, he’s continued shaking up the rap scene with his euphonic beats and die-cast bars. Scribing tongue-in-cheek delinquency on the T1 line, he’s brought that kid-in-the-back of the class energy to the world stage. After leaving his heart out west with last years’ release, he’s here to chat about the star-studded new album, his creative process, and what he has to come.

30 July 2026, 4:30 am - 41 minutes 53 secondsT BREEZY
Today’s guest is T Breezy, a Gamilaraay rapper from Inverell NSW. Coming onto the scene with his debut EP ‘2360’, which won album of the week honours here at fbi radio, T Breezy brought a harder, southern hip hop influenced style of trap which quickly set him apart from the rest of Australian hip-hop. A mainstay in the underground, his 2024 collaborative album ‘Souths Most Wanted’ with Walkerboy, showed us that 2360 was just a taste of what’s to come. He recently put out his 2nd EP, Traction, further refining that singular sound and putting his ambition on full display.

Put your mirrorshades on! Our guests today are the one and only industrial hip-hop trio clipping. Making their appearance on the scene back in 2009, they’ve been pushing the envelope ever since. Their sonics infuse afrofuturism, horrorcore, and sci-fi storytelling, as seen in their sibling concept albums, There Existed an Addiction to Blood, and Visions of Bodies being Burned. Their release from last year, Dead Channel Sky, once again raises the bar, adding glitch, EDM, and acid techno into the cauldron. Joining us ahead of their upcoming tour, and hitting our shores for the first time EVER, they’re here today please welcome Daveed and William from clipping.!

Our guest today are one of the most iconic surf rock bands to ever come out of Australia, so much so that they have become synonymous with their own brand of this - Yolngu surf rock. Coming together in 2020, King Stingray have been making waves for their unabashedly optimistic music and blending of the Yolngu language with english in their lyrics. 4 June 2026, 3:41 am - 41 minutes 41 secondsBAD HOAX
On the show today we have up-and-coming Sydney electronic duo - Bad Hoax! Both dancefloor and cry-in-the-car ready, their sound is effortlessly emotive. Alex’s somber siren vocals and Will’s thumping, dynamic production create an unfamiliar heaven. Trading the comforts of the studio with the duo’s car, and room in their apartment, a heaviness weighs on their newest singles, Not that Deep and Home. Alex and Will join us in the studio today - it’s time to get Out of the Box.
