Watching Emma perform on the stage, the words visceral, emotional, free-following, experiential and dramatic come to mind. But her creative practice extends even beyond this, with works encompassing voice, film and theatre.
Ahead of the premiere of her show HIGH OCTANE at the Campbelltown Arts Centre on Friday March 28th, we’ve got Emma here to talk about the music and stories that have influenced her life to date, her multidisciplinary practice, reconnecting to the world through our bodies and movement, and which Severance character she looks like (hint: it’s definitely who you think).

Today we are joined by actor, writer and producer (check) Chika Ikogwe. You might recognise Chika’s face from Netflix’s Heartbreak high where for two seasons (going into a third) she plays Series Regular, Josephine ‘Jojo’ Obah – the lead teacher for SLTs (pron. Sluts). Chika has been in whole bunch of projects including ABC’s Mikki vs. The World, feature film Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and recently Land of Bad alongside Russel Crowe and Liam Hemsworth.
On stage, Chika has starred in a number of productions including Malthouse’s seven methods of killing kylie jenner and Queensland Theatre’s Fangirls, which later moved to Belvoir. As a writer, Chika has written for the series Bump on Stan in addition to developing her own show, Just Chidi Things (executive produced by Rose Byrne).
