    Danielle Black Lyons is a surfer, artist, mother and co-founder of Textured Waves, a collective aimed at promoting diversity in surfing. Danielle lives in California with her husband and son and surfs daily. Danielle co-founded Textured Waves with several other women in response to a representation issue in surfing. The goal of Textured Waves is to elevate the culture and sport of women's surfing towards women of color and underrepresented demographics through representation, community, and sisterly camaraderie.

    Janet Cherobon-Bawcom on Perseverance and Positivity in Running
    Janet Cherobon-Bawcom is a former professional runner now working as a registered nurse and a running coach. She lives and works close to the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Born in Kapsabet Kenya, Janet came to the US on an athletic scholarship, before becoming a decorated professional runner. Janet has run in multiple Olympic Trials (including the most recent US 2020 marathon trials in Atlanta), and represented the US at the 2012 Olympics, placing 12th in the 10000m. She has a half marathon PR of 1:09:55 and a marathon best of 2:29:45, among other impressive running credentials.

    Alli Penovich on Freediving and Spearfishing
    Alli Penovich is a freediver based out of Florida, competing in the disciplines of freediving and spearfishing. She is sponsored by Amavara, Cobian and Florida Freedivers. Alli is a four time IUSA (International Underwater Spearfishing Association) World Record holder, gaining her first world record at the age of 17. She is a qualified freediving instructor for FII (Freediving Instructors International), where she qualified under her coach Bobby Kim. A former college triathlete, Alli’s exposure to the water started at a young age, and her growth and love in the water has grown exponentially.

    Nadia Ruiz is a runner, speaker, educator and coach. Nadia’s mission is to make a change in her community by inspiring and motivating individuals from all backgrounds to achieve their personal goals. Nadia is a prolific racer, having raced 100’s of marathons, as well as ultra-marathons, triathlons and adventure races. She has travelled and raced in 27 countries across the globe.     Dominique Miller is a professional surfer and photographer, living in Hawaii. She is sponsored by Billabong, and is a long board and stand-up paddle surfer on the World Surf League (WSL). She has a strong sporting background, running both XC and track, and playing lacrosse. Her foray into surfing took place when she went to college in Hawaii, where she forged her own path into the world of professional surfing.
