- 1 hour 17 minutesUCLA Football Depth Chart Adjustments Post-SpringIn this edition of the BROCast, Dave and Tracy talk about how their thinking on the UCLA football depth chart has changed since the end of spring, give their thoughts on the upcoming official visit weekend, and then discuss a little about Tounde Yessoufou's decision between the NBA Draft and returning to college. We go position-by-position through the UCLA football depth chart now that we've had a little distance from the spring, breaking down the adjustments we've made from our mid-spring depth chart and why those adjustments have been made. We then talked about Tracy's story on the massive transformation Bob Chesney has already put together with UCLA football, and then talked a bit about where we stand on UCLA's over/under win total projection for 2026. We discussed the upcoming official visit weekend as well, with multiple key commitments as well as a few quality targets arriving on campus Friday. Finally, we touched on Tounde Yessoufou, the Baylor transfer that UCLA has targeted, and what his thinking might be on NBA Draft vs. returning to college. Bruin Report Online is now at On3! - 55 minutes 11 secondsRecapping UCLA Football Spring Game and Recruiting SurgeIn this edition of the BROCast, Dave and Tracy talk about last Saturday's UCLA football spring game and then go deep on the current state of the football recruiting class. We discussed the format of the spring game, and then talked about some of our key takeaways, including receiver Brian Rowe being just as impressive as we saw during the majority of practices. We also talked about our remaining uncertainty at left tackle and on the interior of the defensive line, and how the format for the game, while more fun for the fans, actually made it a bit harder to assess depth because of the way they mixed and matched offensive lines. We then talked about the big recruiting weekend last weekend, and then discussed what's to come later today a bit as well. For the first time in a long time, we were able to go position-by-position through the recruiting class, because UCLA is actually going for a full high school recruiting class and filling needs at every spot out of the high school ranks. We talked about the position groups we're most excited about, including a defensive back group that already projects as an A-level recruiting job -- and the Bruins aren't yet done with defensive back recruiting. - 54 minutes 23 secondsBROCast: UCLA Football Recruiting, Spring Game PreviewIn this edition of the BROCast, Dave and Tracy talk about UCLA football recruiting, preview the spring game, briefly address the Tounde Yessoufou reports, and then discuss how UCLA women's basketball has closed out the Transfer Portal. This weekend is poised to be one of the biggest UCLA football recruiting weekends in recent memory. The Bruins landed a commitment from four-star defensive tackle George Toia yesterday, and there could be as many as three more four-stars committing this weekend, as well as potentially three-star running back and UCLA legacy Duece Jones-Drew. We talk about the weekend, and the likelihood of UCLA ending up with a top 15 class...or better. We then shifted gears to the spring game, and we discussed what we are hoping to see during the session on Saturday, with special focus on the offensive line, particularly at left tackle, as well as the pass rush and middle linebacker positions. We also want to see Brian Rowe make a spectacular play or two. We touched on the reports that Tounde Yessoufou's agent has said he's going to the NBA Draft, and then digressed into a discussion of AI and aggregation and how it's hurting sports journalism generally. Finally, we talked about how the UCLA women's basketball program has closed out the Transfer Portal. Bruin Report Online is now at On3! Join BRO today and get 5 months for ONLY $1! - 51 minutes 59 seconds5-in-5 eligibility, UCLA football practice, basketball recruitingIn this edition of the BROCast, Dave and Tracy pontificate about the 5-in-5 eligibility rule proposal that seems to rapidly be gaining momentum, the implications of that for college athletics, how it might apply to the UCLA basketball roster for next year, and what that might mean for continued transfer recruiting. We then pivot to a discussion of the UCLA football team in spring practice. The Bruins are heading into practice No. 11 tonight, and we talk about some of our broader takeaways from spring so far, and what our concerns are heading into the final week of the spring. We then discussed football recruiting for UCLA, with the Bruins adding another four-star this week in Khalil Terry. Could the Bruins land a top 25 class? Or...could it even be top 15? There are still a lot of four-star irons in the fire. Finally, we talked about women's basketball recruiting, with the Bruins landing Addy Brown this week from Iowa State. Brown was one of the final linchpins for the Bruins, giving UCLA a wing scorer who can also rebound and pass. Bruin Report Online is now at On3! Join BRO today and get 5 months for ONLY $1! - 1 hour 19 minutesSpring Practice, Football Recruiting, Basketball Transfer PortalIn this edition of the BROCast, Dave and Tracy talk about what they've seen from UCLA football in spring practice so far, how football recruiting is going, and how the two basketball programs are doing in the Transfer Portal. We led off with a discussion of the high energy of football practice so far, with Bob Chesney's energy (as evidenced in his Mic'd Up video" leading the charge. We then went position by position through the depth chart to see if we can start to suss out where we can see real depth forming. We then dove into a discussion of football recruiting, where UCLA has already landed three four-stars and is in the mix for several more. Is a Top 25 class likely? Is a top 15 class possible? We discuss. Finally, we closed with a discussion of the roster build so far for men's and women's basketball, and what we're hearing on the remaining options. Dave and Tracy talk about liking the men's roster build generally, but also discuss whether it's a case of building the right roster a few years too late. Bruin Report Online is now at On3! - 1 hour 9 minutesWomen's Natty, Baseball's Dominance, Basketball Transfers, Football SpringIn this edition of the BROCast, Dave and Tracy talk about the women's basketball national championship, UCLA baseball's dominance, what's going on with the transfer portal in basketball, and then some observations from football practice. The women won the national championship this past weekend, and we talked about the dominant win over South Carolina and the overwhelming talent the Bruins had on this team. We also discussed the transfer portal a bit, and some things we've heard regarding women's transfers. We then touched on the baseball team, currently riding a 30-2 record and a 24-game winning streak. It's another team that's playing at a historically dominant level, not unlike the women's basketball team. Then we shifted gears toward the men's basketball transfer portal, where we tried to answer the question of why UCLA is taking so many power forwards. We then touched on transfer guard recruiting and the post position. Finally, we wrapped up talking about the access we've gotten to UCLA football practice, and how that's afforded us much more in-depth observation periods. As such, we broke down a lot of what we've seen from different position groups on offense and defense. Bruin Report Online is now at On3! Join BRO today and get 5 months for ONLY $1! - 58 minutes 29 secondsUCLA NCAA Tournament Preview, Five-Star Recruiting DiscussionIn this edition of the BROCast, Dave and Tracy talk about the UCLA basketball teams entering the NCAA Tournament. First, the guys break down the men's basketball game between UCLA and UCF on Friday at 4:25 p.m. The big question for the Bruins surrounds the health of Tyler Bilodeau. If he and Donovan Dent are healthy, UCF doesn't present as a terrible matchup. Then, they discuss the women's game, and how it looks likely that the Bruins should be able to blow through the weekend (Cal Baptist and then the winner of Oklahoma State/Princeton) without too much trouble, setting up for the first real game likely in the Sweet 16 or Elite 8. Finally, they close with a discussion of Mick Cronin and five-star high school recruiting. They discuss the way Cronin ideally builds a program, and whether he can successfully evaluate four-star level high school players and then develop them here in the Transfer Portal era.
